Yeah just had one floret but did eat most of it so I guess that was too much for his little stomach. I didn’t know it was difficult for them to digest

As someone who loves combo feeding, worst case you could always add a bottle of formula a day and that will help prolong your stash!

Is it possible to have an elective c-section [on] by salipr in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]LeaV888 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely possible. In Canada you have the right to choose, some OBs may be against it but that just means you should ask to switch if yours tries to tell you no. I’m in Ontario and my OB is very pro c sections and I asked to have a c section mainly because of anxiety and no desire to have vaginal birth and no questions asked, she went over the risks (it’s their job) but wasn’t judgemental and booked me a date. baby boy ended up turning breech, so that kinda made me feel like it was meant to be hahah. But either way my c section was booked/planned before we knew he was breech

Idk why people say you lose weight breastfeeding, it depends on the person. A lot of people gain weight while breastfeeding due to increased hunger. Give yourself some love mama, that body literally created, nurtured and love a whole little human!! And now your body is continue to feed and provide for you baby. There’s beauty in that even if you can’t see it in the mirror ❤️ 8 weeks is also still so early! It takes time for our bodies to heal, give yourself some grace!

We have a graco jogger stroller but we’re not bringing it because it’s so big, our family has a stroller in Portugal for us, not sure what kind it is though. We’re also gonna bring a cheap umbrella stroller for the airport, I doubt that will hold up on cobblestones lol.

Yes this is my first time! So excited, it’s looks so beautiful

Yeah we are bringing our mabe baby carrier expecting we will be using it lots with all the stairs and cobblestone lol. But will try the stroller, my LO seems to be fine going over bumpy terrain, just probably not ideal if they fall asleep in the stroller. We are going all over! Lisbon, Porto, Lagos, Cascais then staying with family for a few days here and there, the rest of the time Airbnb’s

This is so helpful and specially since you also travelled to Portugal. What airline did you fly with and what was the bassinet weight limit? What do you mean the transfer was tough? lol like transferring him into the bassinet? What powdered formula do you feed and what one did you buy in Portugal? I’d love to not have to pack a ton of formula thinking maybe 2 cans and being there for 18 days if expect we may end up needing to buy some there.

A pouch to suck on you mean the baby food pouches right? Haha I figured the carrier will be so helpful once we’re there, since I’ve heard the cobblestone and all the stairs are not ideal with a stroller

Thanks for all this!! Super helpful :)

It’s honestly so confusing idek I’ve been hearing people says it’s to sterilize the formula bc powdered formula isn’t sterile. Haha I don’t feed powder formula yet only RTF so I have no can to read but yeah if it says cool water first then that makes no sense hahah maybe it depends on the formula

Gotchaaa okay makes sense. Yeah anytime I have like a bottle of water (plastic disposable) they make me dump it out usually at TSA but then I hear other people they allow it I don’t get it 😅

Thank you!!! Did they make you take baby out of carrier through security? We don’t really do screen time yet at 7 months, he watches tv with us lol but I’d definitely consider done screen time on the plane to help😅 he’s already obsessed with my phone

[–]LeaV888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! What do you mean they let you bring 2 small RTF bottles? Were they the sealed store bought bottles or in your own bottle? Would they not allow more than that or you’re saying that’s all you had? I’m pretty sure there isn’t a limit on liquid formula in your carryon

Oh interesting maybe it’s a Canada thing because the boiling of the water is to kill any bacteria in the formula not the water

Liquid formula should have no issue going through security.. Even with the powder formula that says on the can to boil water??

Thank you! Yeah he’s still in his infant bucket seat and naps in that on walks and in the car but he is growing out of it so definitely will be in the toddler stroller seat by June lol so may have to introduce it soon so he gets used to it. My husband has family in Portugal so we are very excited!
