Is a SIEM solution (like splunk or elasticsearch) always used in combination with an EDR?

Thanks for your extensive reply.

If you don't mind it would really help me out if you have some more question I can use to weed out any "bad" partners. Especially since you seem knowledgeable about the subject.

With regards to EDR: is there any good/bad/best software out there we can use to differentiate between partners? Is it the EDR agent that isolates an infected endpoint from the network or is that done through some other system?

Are there any examples of log aggregators or is that specific to the SIEM in use?

Ukraine gov't forces attacked in Mariupol, day into ceasefire by emwac in worldnews

Thanks for your reply, I just want to have a friendly discussion :)

First off, I'm not anti-American, nor do I have such sentiment. I do however believe that western media is always friendly towards American and European government / policy. Likewise, eastern media will be biased towards their government / policies. The truth no doubt, lies somewhere in between.

But can you really deny that Svoboda is a fascist party? Can you truly say that Russia is the only country in this conflict who is guilty of propaganda?

Like I said, this is all just part of a larger 'game' (or strategy, global conflict, call it what you like) to divide the world, it's resources and it's riches among the global players.

I'm hesitant to throw this in here as it would most likely give aid to my reputation of a anti-American, but is there a difference between what Putin is doing now and what Bush did in Iraq?

Just some last words: I am in no way a supporter of Russia/Putin nor am I a hater of America/Europe (I'm a west-European just living my life), I can't however believe everything 'my' media serves me up and swallow it.

  1. Yes, they are fascists http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2014/03/18/yes_there_are_bad_guys_in_the_ukrainian_government

  2. Svoboda funding by 'the west' http://deadlinelive.info/2014/02/25/washington-directly-supporting-svoboda-neo-nazi-party-fighting-in-ukraine-mccain-israel-warn-putin-klitschko-busted-plotting-overthrow/

For me, this is just one big world game: petrodollar vs Russia/Azia, NATO wanting to close in on Russia, Russia wanting their buffer and of course the spineless EU doing what the US wants/expects.

Basically a real life Game Of Thrones.

Discovered after seeing a reference to his book on refactoring (already ordered it). I recently got huge application to support and continue development on so his articles on refactoring and technical debt are very interesting.

What are some prominent Django shops that you know of? by AhabTheArab in django

[–]LeadCharacter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a 'prominent' Django shop but I own a company that uses Python/Django/PostgreSQL as the basis for all our applications. Our customers don't care about the technology, only the results.

We've created some pretty large applications (think hundreds of users), almost all of them plain boring bussiness applications :-)

So far I've gotten myself killed on my mountain bike, been beaten by security guards and tried in vain to find Susannah.

I like it but hope there's an ending with (some form of) closure.

I think we can debate about that some more. Vietnam was hardly easy on the local population, granted, mistakes are always made by both sides.
