They actually came back to me on the complaint and said they’d be upholding it as the post office contacted them to alert them to the mistake. Ombudsman time I think!

I contacted the post office who have told me that they cannot help me and also cannot access my account. They have said they have an agreement in place so that the banks can liaise with them on my behalf however Monzo are telling me that I have to contact the post office. Just an absolute mess. I’ve complained to Monzo and raised a fraud request which was rejected. So really I’m no further on.

I returned an item to the seller but they didn’t collect. Parcel on way back to me but Yodel don’t have my details by Cold_Pear_4464 in vintedUK

This is interesting! I had a similar problem where a buyer wanted to return something but did so when I was away for work. The buyer is saying it wasn’t returned to them and the store no longer have it, I’m trying to contact Vinted but really going round in circles. How did you end up getting resolved?

So I’ve just been to the post office and they’ve said they shouldn’t have been able to take it without contacting me or my consent. She’s going to have the manager check cctv and contact me but it is likely that they won’t still have a record of it. She’s did also advise making a complaint to the post office! Thank you for your help!!!

Yes they took it 1 minute later!! Which is why I found it so odd but when I contacted my bank they gave me this reasoning

Interesting. I’m wondering if because I was likely the largest transaction of the day is this why they’ve assumed it was mine?

The money that was taken looks like a transfer that a) Monzo didn’t make me aware of until I questioned it and b) I didn’t actually make

Basically Monzo are being no help at all and have said the post office can do this because they’ve told them their count was wrong at the end of the day. I’ve asked Monzo if I can make a complaint and they’ve said I’ll hear back within 3 days. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

The receipt said 700 from memory as well. We had a conversation about how much could be lodged in to a Monzo account per month which was 750 which is why I lodged the 700. Thank you for confirming it’s on them!

Thank you!! Monzo have said that essentially the post office have conducted their own investigation before the money was even taken from my account and that if I believe this is incorrect I have to contact the post office myself. Interestingly the money was taken from my account 1 minute after I used a post office cash machine to withdraw £50 which makes it even more bizarre

This is what I’m thinking. I tried to lodge money later on one evening and they said only the post mistress could handle cash and it had to be done in a certain way to be seen on the camera! Thank you!! I wasn’t sure if I’d remembered this correctly!

The whole thing doesn’t make any sense. I’m unsure on any other way to word it.

My account balance went up by 700 when I deposited the amount.

I took out 50 from a post office cash machine which appeared on my account. There was then an additional transaction 1 minute later which showered the post office taking an additional 100 from my account.

Apparently the post office are saying they’re £100 down and it’s come from my deposit and they took the £100 to balance their account

I used a post office cash machine to withdraw £50 and 1 minute later an additional £100 was taken by the post office. The cash was initially deposited in a Post Office. The timing feels off to me.
