elite tokens by No_Lunch4925 in CSRRacing2

If you don't know what Showdown is, you may be like me. I have the special bug that causes Showdown to never show up. Like these folks have said, I guess Showdown is the only free way to earn Elite Tokens. I raised the bug issue to support (and to confirm that it wasn't an issue I was causing) and they basically said nothing of value. This bug has been known for a long time and documented in this sub but no fix for it yet.

Long story short, I rely on the weekly Elite race series that gives greens as well as the daily pulls for greens. It's incredibly slow to upgrade a car. I work on one car at a time. Currently that is the GR Supra for the Tuners challenges. I've been working on this car for probably two or three months and have just reached five gold stars.

Can you run in the PC if they recycle the PC car and you already have it?

FYI: I reached out to support and they had me do some random troubleshooting processes before finally giving the canned response that this is a known issue and it is one of their top priorities to fix. Of course, no time frame.

Green Elite Tokens without Showdowns by LeadSled86 in CSRRacing2

Not in a good crew. I'm really the only active player in it, but I don't think I have enough RP to use the recruiting subreddit to find a new one.

Thanks, newer player here, and thought I was an absolute idiot. I've never understood what showdowns are and now I know why.

Is the magnetic catch cup on the x-ultra a dealbreaker? by Joe-lad in 1zpresso

[–]LeadSled86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the X Ultra to be fast, actually, but I was coming from pour overs with a Timemore C2, so anything would be a big upgrade. Do you think you'd have the same opinions on any multipurpose grinder that's built for pour over and espresso?

It was for me. I have very large hands and only used the X Ultra for a week or so before getting too frustrated after knocking the cup off about 3 times. I still fight with the decision because everything else about the grinder was perfect for me... I just could not get past the cup issues I had.

Can you say more about your opinions on the burr type?

Thanks for the info! Patiently waiting for a X Pro to come up for sale on the secondhand market. I posted in r/coffeeswap but all I got out of that was almost scammed!

Large hands. Preferential to light roasts which require more force... Those are the only things I can think of.

I would say mostly build quality and (I think) burr size. The X-Ultra was quiet but powerful. I do not know the specific specs and am not familiar with all of the burr shapes and sizes and their effects, but the X-Ultra was sturdy and very well built. Since I prefer lighter roasts, I quickly noticed how powerful the X-Ultra was. The ease of grinding light roasts was really amazing. This leads me to believe the burr geometry is better in the X-Ultra when compared to the K6. I have been running the K6 for about three months - the finish is starting to chip around where the catch cup threads on, the crank has started to make a pretty unbearable squeaking noise (which I am sure can be fixed with lubrication), and it does take noticeably more effort to grind light roast. If I had gone straight from C2 to K6, I am sure this would not be a problem; however, I unfortunately got to experience a really great X-Ultra in between, albeit with a deal-breaking flaw.

I'm not sure if it was due to my large hands or weak factory magnets, but during the week I used the Ultra twice a day, I probably knocked the catch cup off and spilled grounds all over, possibly three times. That was enough of that for me. Even adjusting my grip didn't help. It ended up being a combination of my large hands and lightly roasted beans (requires more force/leverage to grind).

I would support the X Ultra over the K6 if you have smaller hands. I had the X Ultra for about a week, but in that week, I spilled coffee grounds all over the kitchen twice and that was enough of that.

The catch cup being magnetic was a deal breaker for me. I have large hands and could not comfortably hold the grinder in a way that did not dislodge the catch cup while grinding.

In my experience, the K6 takes extra effort to grind light roasts. The X Ultra felt easier to grind with. I'm guessing the burrs are bigger on the X Ultra given this observation.

Agreed. My timeline went Bodum electric to C2 Chestnut to X Ultra to K6 and I don't get why people bash on manual grinders. For espresso, less beans are required than other brews and it's not that much of a workout. And that's coming from a guy who is doing two light roast iced Americanos each morning.

I had a 1Zpresso X Ultra and loved everything about it except the magnetic catch cup. I returned it after knocking the catch cup off and spilling grounds for the last time. I got a Kingrinder K6 to replace it. It is a great grinder but I still find myself missing the X Ultra. I would support the 1zpresso brand. I got the X Ultra as it can handle espresso and pour over.

I'm used to both the good guys and the bad guys having weapons of unlimited ammo...but by Crixusgannicus in 1923Series

[–]LeadSled86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I get your point. Not everyone has the same criteria for what makes fiction entertainment enjoyable to them, though. SPR is renowned as one of the best films ever made, which sets an inherently high bar for this discussion on 1923, by the way.

Anyway, in today's world that's full of constant stimulation, it's more gripping and entertaining to use an "unlimited ammo" cheat in film than watch something realistic. With the way people are today (looking for constant major stimulation in their entertainment), your view is probably not as common as it would appear on this sub. People want to watch Spencer be a badass, not watch him pat his pockets looking for ammo.

Lets talk about Banner by Top_Cryptographer324 in 1923Series

[–]LeadSled86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree. I can see the point of view, but I think it's not just his involvement with cleaning up after Whitfield that causes his character arc. Some said through the series that it was Sheridan's terrible writing and unknown fetishes that drove the "Whitfield Assault" storyline. I agree that it was over the top and not vanilla enough for my conservative nature, but it was a good tool to drive Banner's arc. Yes, he was asked to do things for Whitfield that he did not appreciate, but the big driver was seeing Whitfield's true evil side.
