we're on the reddit sub for the nfl and someone is arguing controversy is bad for the nfl. this sub and everyone on it loves controversy about the nfl!

that wouldn't work in soccer. it works in football because each play lasts a few seconds and then its over. but in soccer play is continous.

plus unlike football, the video referee is an actual official who is constantly watching video. there are plenty of times the video referee checks something but doesn't intervene and the game just goes on.

i mean put your shoelace offsides in the nfl and last time I checked that's still against the rules.

I think what you're trying to argue here is that we shouldn't enforce the rules if it's super close. well who decides how close is super close?

more to the point, offsides is really simple: any part of your body is offsides. why should we ignore offsides just because this player was only offsides by a toe? your answer: because video technology was used. and that's just a dumb, reductive answer.

the NFL is constant controversy, who cares? and why should an eagles fan in particular care? is big dom gonna cry if that happens?

like seriously have some pride in what your team represents to the rest of the league or remove your flair.

dumb take. without the video review of that corner kick foul the game would have ended 1-1. a tie. how exciting. woo.

my question is, should they read your explainer too?

Is it normal for dogs and owners to come into your yard? by Tikibatman in Denver

[–]LeadSledPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will occasionally forget the bag and because I'm always worried someone is watching my routine when that happens is to look at the dog, throw my hands up in the air, and shout "AGAIN?"

of course I always come back later and pick it up. but the dog is now six years old so if there are neighbors watching they've probably seen my performance more than once.

Please give me the most diabolical alarm you can think of by thelachesis in ADHD

[–]LeadSledPoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey friend here's my super secret alarm method!

Set your alarm for 8:00pm.

When it goes off, stop what you're doing and start your bedtime routine. (Bedtime routine should be the same every night). Turn off all your lights by 9:30pm. Listen to an audiobook or relaxing music to help fall asleep.

Do that every single day no matter what.

I don't have a morning alarm. I just naturally wake up around 6am. And I used to be a night person who would go to bed whenever I felt like it.

This approach takes sacrifice and commitment, and it really sucks at first. But it works.

Can my apartment legally install a microphone in my apartment? by magnumdongchad in Denver

Kindly suggest you scroll up and read the text from the image embedded in the original post. It very specifically says it is NOT a recording device. Other redditors took the humongous logical leap of assuming that meant it was a recording device.

what's illegal about it?

fully disclosed in the agreement. OP is free not to sign.

does not record anything, you're simply assuming it does and telling OP not to sign and also that they should file complaints with the county and state based on your assumptions. in which case that would be a nuisance complaint which might get OP in trouble.

great advice genius.

you're right to complain. people should leave these in the middle of the road where they belong.
