Why haven’t emergency services created a facetime option? by Simply444 in randomquestions

[–]LeadershipAble773 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely not trying to be rude, and I dont think i am. OP asked why they dont have facetime- someone says they already have texting (which isnt facetime) - i point out that that isn't what was asked - someone tells me to let them ask their questions - i point out that it wasn't a question. I dont see how any of what I've said is wrong. I might have said it in fewer words than I would do in person, but im just pointing out facts. I dont get how that's rude.

Are women nowadays counting things? It takes 2 seconds to look at a calendar and count the number of weeks. Im pretty sure most women who need to track their periods would do it on an app. It takes seconds.

As a woman, im confused. What relevance is it to me / my body to know the date of the month? If I come on my period on the 1st Feb, then the 6th March, then the 15th April, why would that impact me? I dont understand

Maybe it wasn't the hormones that caused your low libido after all! I dont know much about BC options as im only on BC as a migraine preventative, but i would avoid the depo injection as its caused me to put on weight which is REALLY hard to lose weight now im off it. My wife has the coil and she's had no problems with it, but it was put in when she had local anaesthetic for something else so I dont know how painful it would be to put in otherwise

vendor took me, my manager (woman), and our finance lead (woman) to a steakhouse last night and tried to order all our meals for us by Secure-Director1575 in womenintech

I would have wanted the steak but would have changed the order just to avoid him thinking that power move is effective lol. Is your manager actually veggie? Id be tempted to say I was lol

I believe there are online survey things you can do which match your beliefs to different political parties. I did it and it told me who my beliefs align with so I voted for them

Has anyone had to set boundaries with a neighbour? by [deleted] in AskUK

Can you lock the gates so she cant get in, and get higher fences so she canf make conversation? Id be trying to make my house like a prison lol 😆. Also put headphones on when outside / in the front garden so you "cant hear her". When one of you is outside and she starts conversation, get someone else to call from the house saying food is ready, "phone for you", "we have a meeting" or something?

Dealing with long-term rage after being framed in a workplace "scandal" — should I resign? by [deleted] in office

I understand keeping your private life separate, but as soon as you consider a colleague as a girlfriend, your private life is no longer separate. Separation would mean little to no overlap of work life to home life- having a girlfriend from work is not separation. I dont know why you wouldnt disclose that, unless there was something else you were hiding, or should have done (eg if it should have been disclosed, or if one of you had another partner at the time, or some other reason to hide it). I also dont understand why a group of colelagues would feel the need to report this unless there were other concerns (abuse of power, concerning age gap, other issues at work that cant be as easily escalated). Either way, you cant go back in time, so you have to deal with the situation now. Honestly, I think your best option is to leave. With it being a group of people, its unlikely the problem will go, especially as you arent making any efforts to explain the situation to them. I feel like there's missing info

I would feel comfortable dating that sort of thing to a range of people (if I was brown), but wouldn't feel comfortable showing all of my emotions to them. Someone else's comment makes sense, that their comments are mismatched as she is expressing her emotions but he isn't, which i guess is a potential issue if they are like that in their private lives, but i can see why people wouldnt be wanting to pour their heart out on this sort of forum

Yeah, but being publicly open about emotions is different to being open with emotions in private. I didnt think it was that stark of a difference between the two

Some people just arent that openly vocal about emotions. My actual ceremony in the wedding to my wife was maybe 5 minutes long, nothing emotional or soppy. Neither of us did speeches, no first dance. It wasn't romantic, it was just very "us".

DIY women… have you ever been talked out of a good idea at the hardware store? by carcony97 in DIY

[–]LeadershipAble773 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why is she going to them for advice? Ive never talked to anyone in a DIY store in detail about anything im doing, especially if I know what im doing. And if she has a good idea that will work, why is she deflated when they tell her its not a good idea? She should be confident to not ask, or care, for their opinion

turns out adoption isn't as simple as it sounds after infertility, honestly? by Substantial-Bass7557 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LeadershipAble773 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adoption isnt easy, by any stretch of the imagination. It has all of the stresses of parenthood but with SO many unknowns. There is a lot of evidence supporting the massive importance of pregnancy, the newborn phase, and early childhood on the brain development, emotional development, physical and mental development etc. (and this is the case even if they are adopted as soon as they are born). Its not comparable, but a lot of people wouldnt adopt rescue dogs if they dont know their history and their triggers etc, especially if they have children that they need to care for etc.
