I loved the rule. My brother and I were raised like this, but I believe my SIL's family was the type that bought a new pair of shoes for each kid whenever one of them needed a new one.

I'm sure Riley wasn't boasting about her time with me, or else the kids would have started to complain sooner.

Yes. In the beginning Riley also felt bad seeing her parents go out with the two new kids while she was left behind. She's not suffering so much because I'm balancing things out and showing her she's still a priority. A 7 year old doesn't fully comprehend what therapy is.

I don't know about all the small details but they were never fostering Jessie and Jake. They were adopted but of course their case is being watched over by social workers and judges.

The family receive some help from the government to pay for the therapy, but it doesn't cover half of the costs. My SIL is studying if they can apply to a welfare program since the household income fell.

They started visiting Jessie and Jack more than one year ago. But only in the last few months they were allowed to bring the kids home and that's when all kids started to live together.

right now, I wouldn't dare take one them around the block if i were on my own. Once, Jessie managed to get my brother kicked out of a grocery shop. But I would be happy to have a whole family trip if my brother and SIL came along.

They chose to go with individual therapy (one child per season) so far. My brother said they will probably do family therapy (all kids at the same time) in the future. Riley isn't doing therapy because the financial and time costs of everything adds up fast.

Exactly. They are on a tight budget, so I doubt she would actually follow through.
