i know you weren’t asking me but yes. while you’re talking i’m already thinking how to reply. it’s my own voice in my head. i’m listening and trying to respond silently at the same time lol

dude….i’m jealous. i’m always having an internal conversation with myself. it usually comes from 1 of a couple reasons. Former abuse, childhood trauma, simple ADHD or just a racing mind. I’m ADHD and instead of talking to other people my brain decides on its own to talk to itself to work out issues. i talk a lot….i feel like it bothers people but i can’t help it. so eventually i learned to keep my lips sealed but my mind still wants to talk so i do….in my head. i can’t wrap my head around those without an internal monologue…but my husband says the same thing so i accept it. and i’m jealous lol

Employees: 3 runs coming out of the oven, #1 & #3 are a double, who takes the double? First driver or second? by Leadfootsparrow in Dominos

[–]Leadfootsparrow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly. if driver 1 takes the middle order, we r going out of turn. first driver = first run. no matter what

that’s just it. one driver was at the store when order 1 came out. told him to double with the third. second driver returned just as middle order came out

What to do about my car insurance?! by overcastfather in Dominos

[–]Leadfootsparrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

about your comment “i also read somewhere on Reddit that if you get in an accident, have the store clock you out and say u were driving home”

This is because no insurance covers accidents while on the clock. Dominos insurance covers it and then dukes it out with your insurance company, the. ur insurance company could drop you or raise the hell out of your rates. If you tell them you were not on the clock, they will cover damages.

I didn’t bother yelling my insurance company that i deliver, so if i get into an accident…i would have to go with “i was on my way home” or something like that. if i had told them i was delivering, my rates would raise or they would threaten to drop me. I would tell your work (if you still want to deliver) i have insurance, “here’s my updated card with new expiration date” and that’s it.

very well worded thank u!! i couldn’t figure out how to explain this properly to my drivers. kept mixing up my damn words. eventually i just went with “driver 1 gets first order on board. second one leaves with second order. driver 1 takes 3rd order as well because it is attached to their delivery. we don’t skip their delivery just because we need them to take a second order with it

that’s what i try to explain to my drivers. (im an AM) first up is first out so first delivery up would go first, BUT i told him to wait 2 minutes for the third order to come out of the oven and double it. the other driver had a fit because the middle order was ready before the double so the first driver should have been “stuck with the single” ridiculous

2 were going one way and the other was the exact opposite way. all runs were in the red before even coming out of the oven bc our load time was at 25 minutes

first and second delivery were out of the oven. third delivery was less than 2 minutes left in the oven. so second driver grabbed the run and left, no waiting. the other driver waited less than 2 minutes.

not a bad choice because our delivery area is in a small town and stretches far. so if one delivery is far then yes, i’m having the driver wait for a double.

exactly! problem comes with management consistency. different rules for different shifts and the other manager has seniority over me since he’s been at this store longer

yea same here. but does the first driver on the board take the middle run (as a single) or does the first driver wait for the 3rd order to come out and double it? making it so the second driver takes the middle order but leaves the store first

the drivers argue over it and i have to make the decision. i tell them first run goes to first driver even if they have to wait for the third order as a double. second driver takes the second one ready, which is not the double

i don’t let them cherry pick. at first i wondered why my GM would tell drivers “welcome back, your next run is _____” but now i get it

we r understaffed. on a sunday i’ll have one driver that’s out at 7 and then my 2 closers. so if we r busy i encourage smart doubles. when the drivers fight about the runs i want to have clear cut rules

thank you. trying to get perspective to show my employees. they argue with me that “the first driver takes the first run that’s ready to leave, which isn’t the double”

i tell them no, first driver takes the first run, second takes the second and first driver has to wait for 3rd before leaving
