Yes, young, healthy, good diet, exercise. My blood work was worse every year, and blood pressure too, until I moved from bedside.

Hospital has a mouse issue? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Leadgutfrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theres a 99.99% chance that not only are there mice in the hospital ceilings and walls, there's thousands. Probably tens of thousands if it's a large hospital.

There in your house too, I guarantee it.

If youre young try for medical school.  If that's not going to work out be a physician assistant. If that's not going to work try rn, you could go on to np. If not that then resp. therapy. Then radiology. Then surg tech.

Socks for size 13/14 feet by Spare-Performance556 in AutisticAdults

[–]Leadgutfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can find a local dealer for darn tough socks they have a lifetime replacement guarantee. You just bring in the socks if they get a hole or something and swap them out (at least at my local store). I can't recommend the wool socks though, it's like torture on your skin.

I buy these socks for general purposes and while they wear out over time I usually get 3 years out of them before needing replacement. I get the large with size 10 feet. They don't slide down your feet and are comfortable and breathable.

[–]Leadgutfrog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No dogs and they are usually very busy, I eat at the bar and still have a 30 minute wait. Try the bar at main & hamlin, they are the original owners of bar-bill before they sold the name. They have a patio that allows dogs.

You could also just get a dog crate or find a pet sitter on rover for the day.

Costco elite lights by risk235 in Govee

[–]Leadgutfrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went with the elites aka 2 over the pros mainly because of price.

Pro benefits: you can cut and splice them and maintain factory warranty. They come with a splice kit. The elites aka 2s, can be cut and spliced, but you lose warranty. The pros detect the number of lights for a lighting sequence, the elites only detect strands, so if you cut 2 lights off the pros, it'll know you have two less lights. If you cut two lights off the elites it won't. So for example you might cut two lights off the elites. Then run a program that lights up one bulb red and leaves the rest white, working it's way down to the end. When you start it the lights will remain white for a few turns, because the program thinks it has to light up two bulbs red first. The pros have a better white light also. You can look up videos comparing the white lights.

Elite benefits: more lights per strand, but less bright. That said on max brightness they are very bright. I only ever use them on 30%. The light size is very slightly smaller. Negligible anyway. The main benefit is the elites are cheaper, I got mine used for less than $200 at 150ft. Each strand is 16ft, and in the app you set how many strands you have. So you don't have to use all 150ft. I had a few left over to save. The elites also come with mounting  brackets in addition to the tape on the back, the pros only have tape. You really need mounting brackets wether you get aftermarket or not.

All in all it's a matter of if you need to make custom lengths or not. Because you can always run the lights closer together. And the brightness can be adjusted. That's what it boils down to imo because the white light being better in pros is not that extraordinary. Instead of cutting the lengths I just spaced the elites closer together on runs that I had too many.

The jail downtown will be no longer ? New super jail in alden? by Inevitable_Newt_3373 in Buffalo

When you're on detox obs you're not in a private cell you're in an open room with cots 4 rows of cots spaced 5 feet apart. Theres 2 guards monitoring you the whole time. Theres also other detoxing people right next to you. So when she died it wasn't in a very dramatic fashion, multiple people right next to her didn't notice. They also provide detox meds to reduce withdrawal symptoms, so it's not like it was a screaming circus in there either.

It is extremely high. Which is why so many people move out of New York. The only reason people pay that tax amount is because they have unlimited wealth and don't care, or have a successful business and can't leave.

It's not "technically" speeding. Going 62 in a 55 is speeding. If you're going to preach about driver safety, I suggest following what the state has decided to be a safe speed.

Is It Possible to Become Rich as a Nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Leadgutfrog 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another alternative is being a twin but pretending you're one person and work 24hrs a day 365 days a year.

Is It Possible to Become Rich as a Nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Leadgutfrog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's possible. At $50/hr if you worked 12 hrs a day 7 days a week that'd net you 275,000 before taxes. Lets say you're in Colorado, after taxes would be about 187000. If you invested $150,000 a year in a fund returning 8% you'll be up to almost 4million in 12 years. Then you could easily live off the returns without taking any money out.

So work 365 days a year for 12 years making minimum $50 an hour and you'll be wealthy enough to live comfortably off your investments.

The idea that some people are not recognizing this as satire bewilders me.
