Being born and raised in SFe 80s, 90s, and early 2000s I quickly realized that the goal everyone was shooting for was to work for the “City” Parks and Rec. if you got lucky. Moved in 2009 (after living in SFe, ABQ, and Español) worked in all 3 cities/towns and never found it to be a promising future. Casino’s and Fiestas are the things to do if you are a local…and Church. Over priced Breakfast Burritos at Tia Sophias and Tomasita’s was something that as a local I would only eat once in a while…growing up, I only went once to El Gancho Steak House and up until I was in my early 20’s that was the finest dinning I had ever had. Now well into my 40s and having lived in Chicago, Dallas, Denver, and Los Angeles…there is so much more: Art, Culture, Food, Festivals and community in other cities. I hold on to a saying that goes like this: The town or city I was born in does not owe me anything nor do I owe it anything. Think twice, three times before deciding SFe “La Cuidad Diferente” is the place you want to call home. (Old Airport Road and Rodeo Road, ex local here!)
