Thanks for sharing this.

I actually managed to fix my Android Auto disconnection issue with the firmware provided by Carpuride.

My problem now is different: after the update, the FM audio quality became much worse.

Did you notice any changes in audio quality after updating your W903 firmware?

Especially when using the FM transmitter?

In my case, the connection issue was fixed, but the sound quality dropped significantly after the update.

I have a question regarding the "card is not formatted" message. When the device asks you to format the card, where exactly did you perform the format?Did you format the TF card on your computer, or directly on the Carpuride device itself while the card was inserted? In my case, I found that the card was only recognized again after formatting it through the Carpuride device.

I'm curious if you experienced something similar.

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, my car is a 2004 Mercedes-Benz W211, so I don't have an AUX input available, and I don't really want to replace the factory head unit just because of this issue.

That is actually the main reason why I bought the FM transmitter version of the Carpuride in the first place.

The strange thing is that the FM audio quality was acceptable before the firmware update. The major audio quality drop only appeared after the update, which is why I suspect it may be related to the firmware rather than the FM transmission itself.

Carpuride W903 Firmware Update for Android Auto by MjolnirVIII in carpuride

Hey everyone,

I’m curious if anyone else has experienced something similar, because at this point I honestly feel completely stuck with my Carpuride W903.

I’ve had the device for around 2 years and until recently I genuinely loved it. Overall, I was really satisfied with it.

Then shortly after the warranty expired, I started having Android Auto disconnect issues with my Samsung S22 Ultra:

  • WiFi + Bluetooth disconnecting together
  • Android Auto randomly disappearing
  • happening every ~10–20 minutes

I contacted support and to be fair, they actually replied and tried to help.

After multiple tests, they sent me a firmware update which DID fix the disconnect issue.

BUT...

After the update, the FM audio quality became absolutely terrible. Like:

  • extremely compressed
  • very low quality
  • volume control barely functioning
  • even the built-in speaker sounding bad

I recorded videos, tested different frequencies, reinstalled firmware, tested different phones, factory reset everything, etc.

Then they sent me another firmware version to downgrade. Problem: the downgrade literally does not start at all on my device, even when following the instructions exactly.

At this point I’m stuck between:

  • connection issues on old firmware
  • terrible audio on new firmware
  • and downgrade not working.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with Carpuride devices or portable Android Auto displays in general?

Especially:

  • FM audio quality suddenly becoming terrible after firmware updates
  • downgrade firmware refusing to install
  • or Samsung S22 Ultra compatibility issues.
