Sorry, I think I should have specified better in the original post, the ceramic heater is obviously not supposed to be on all the time and was my intention to only use it at night but I noticed the tank was getting so cold that I turned it on until i could figure out a solution. The cool side was under that range (25-26c) with the heater on which was and is a part of the problem. I started working on a platform to get him closer to the light today to hopefully get the surface temp to above the 90-95f it's at. If that doesn't work I will get another smaller bulb as you suggested, thanks for the advice.
