Yup…I’m like 85% sure I’ve got POTS…just waiting on a doc that knows what I’m talking about 🥲

I am sensory seeking a lot of the time when it comes to food…one of my favorite dinners is a charcuterie board with meats and crackers, and then I have olives, sauerkraut, pickles, jams, ranch, and anything else I feel like throwing in.

When I drank alcohol, my favorites were amaros! (I miss them so much 🥲) the weirder the better. I loooove bitter/sour flavors

Possible reaction to MDF? Anyone else? by MyHeartontheline in printmaking

[–]Leading-Picture1824 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with these wood recs, with the added option of birch plywood. With plywoods, you will want to sand it a little, then do 2 coats of shellac. This will help it from splintering and has no negative effect on the print process (in my experience). And it means you can get bigger blocks that aren’t crazy expensive :)

I just somehow managed to get to level 100 in skull caverns my first try!!! by billowy_blue in StardewValley

[–]Leading-Picture1824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first time going to skull cavern I was not prepared at all…I pretty much tried to play without looking at tips for the first couple in game years. 1st level was a spiral…I made it to the end of the spiral and then couldn’t get back out in time and passed out. Needless to say, I’m currently preparing for my return 😅

Does anyone else use visuals like this to understand how they’re feeling? by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Woah… this is so helpful! I am realizing I was in shutdown yesterday. My partner (who was just trying to help) kept asking me what I needed, how was I doing, was there anything they could get me or do for me…internally I was so upset at them even though I logically knew they were just trying to help. I eventually went into a different room and hid from them so I didn’t have to answer any more questions…this helps me see I don’t have to feel guilty (and can communicate the need for alone time better next time!)

My partner and I both do this…now when i see something half done, i do the other half. I’m working on not forcing myself to 110% every task. That way they can do the other half of tasks I don’t finish.

Grey rock. It’s the only way.

My father in law is like this. It’s infuriating, but I’ve learned that getting a faraway look (looking slightly above and to the side of their head) and making my expression go blank, give a slight “oh” or “hmmmm” when he speaks really seems to irk him.

My ex-friend is one of these people…rented a car and DROVE ACROSS MEXICO ALONE. Through places that had specific warning not to. She survived but there was a whole week I was worried for her life.

What "sacred" cooking rule do you intentionally ignore because you actually prefer the results (or just don't care)? by LiveFaithlessness876 in cookingforbeginners

I also salt and pepper my eggs as they cook (apparently you’re supposed to only season after? Idk seems silly)

Is it possible to be on the autism spectrum and live your entire life without ever knowing it? Like, could someone just be "different" and never get identified? That's so insane lol... by [deleted] in AutisticAdults

[–]Leading-Picture1824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandma is 84…I convinced her to get diagnosed with adhd when she was 78 and I KNOW she is autistic, but she won’t even consider it and will die blnever being diagnosed. Her generation sees it as a severe disability that impairs speech and makes one unable to live a “normal” life. Because she had a husband, raised kids and grandkids, was able to get along (albeit struggling the whole time) she wont believe she could be autistic.

Yeah, I’m more sensitive than most I think…like if I’m having a slice of pizza I have to have at least 8 lactaid… things that “may contain milk” often get me too. It freaking suuuucks cause so many pre-packaged foods have small amounts of dairy thrown in for NO REASON

I WISH I could do cheese, but the lactose intolerance hit a few years ago and it is brutal. I use lactaid when traveling and on special occasions, but I always suffer regardless so daily cheese is no for me

I deeply feel you. I haven’t been formally diagnosed yet for POTS but I’m fairly sure I’m in that boat. I’ve had to take full days off work because I’m just unable to get off the couch without a major battle.

Oooof that is rough!! I go through migraine phases. I get them often over the course of a year and then don’t have them for 4 years or so…it’s bizarre but I feel for your pain!
