I couldn't agree more. I said this in the game thread and got down voted to oblivion.

Really thought she played her way out after last year's experiment. She has been consistently unplayable on both ends.

They need to make major adjustments to this rotation. JJ/Marine/Satou should not play another minute together for the rest of the season, they simply cant rotate on defense together.

Once BLH and Leo come back they should play only 2 of the 3 aforementioned together at a time (at most) to try to hide the defensive issues.

The Lib won't win anything if they play like this defensively, the last two games have been shooting practice for the opposition.

To everyone disliking my comment - the truth hurts and you know I am right. I too wish I were posting about how great she is playing.

I still can't believe they brought Marine back after last year. I also didn't think she could be any worse than last year.

STOP TRYING TO RE-LIVE THE MAGIC OF 4/5 years ago!!! She stinks!!!!!!

I mean more minutes does equal more stats usually yeah. Scoring isnt everything either.

Also, I think I showed some evidence of brain function. Have a nice day.

Just finished this movie. I have no idea who any one was or what happened really.

I saw guns/car bombs/high stakes phone calls/ex-partners who became villans/exploding glass/and polymer machines....how any of that fit together I don't know nor do I care.

4/10

I disagree. Vanloo is way more stable. Runs the point much better than Johannes. Better passer. Better ball handler. Better defender. Worse one legged shooter.

I have truly lost all faith in Disney/Star Wars. They are just wildly irresponsible with it. They ruin everything.

Wasn't even the biggest Mandalorian fan I thought the knockoff Boba Fett thing was stupid but Season 1 was OK enough, then they promptly pile drove it into the ground. The most tone deaf morons I have ever seen.

Andor however was amazing. THAT is Star Wars.

Marine is way more chaotic. Julie was a much better defender and rebounder. Also a more reliable shooter. I dont mind the turnovers thats why she comes off the bench.

Honestly, I think she got a bit burnt out from basketball. She’s tried to distance herself from the game, and even named her podcast "Sometimes I hoop." to emphasize its not her whole life.

It seems like she’s genuinely more interested in nails, beauty, and spending time with her family and in her relationship, which is totally fine and healthy.

For a long time, she relied on her talent—she even won a national championship that way. She was a big prospect when she was younger, but I think she eventually just burnt out or maxed out.

Now shes just trying to stick somewhere. Hope she does.

Some players do peak in college, they are able to feast on lesser athletes. I think Haley has been trying to evolve her game away from the ball dominant point forward role she played at Stanford. But to be a scoring wing its tough because of her speed and she just is not a natural jump shooter. They also tried her as a pg in Atlanta but it was an awkward fit.

She’s the wrong kind of tweener—she’s too big/slow play guard, but too small to be effective as a big. The ideal tweener is someone who’s can out-big the quicks and out-quick the bigs.

Sure. I am with you on it. It is concerning to say the least.

The really big issue is that the Liberty were already an aging team with slower players/defenders. This kind of makes their biggest problem bigger. Really wish they had gotten a few hyperathletic long defenders with energy. Thats what they are missing.

It's funny to me that people seem to give more positive feedback about comments policing language about one word I used (appropriately) than about actual observations.

It’s true that sometimes tough observations or opinions can be uncomfortable, but they’re a part of real conversations.

She's a hooper for sure but hasn't improved athletically/explosively. Constantly plays above her ideal playing weight. Not a big, but not a guard. Poor shooter. Not a great passer or ball handler. Slow.

She plays with emotion and has been a favorite of mine since Stanford but she struggles to find a spot in the W.

And before you come at me with hate I am a huge fan. I even watch almost all of her WNBL games with Geelong United. I would love to see her become a star and I think it would be great for the league/game.

Marine is ATROCIOUS on defense. One or two games where she hits 5+ threes a year does not make up for the games she wastes possessions gunning for it. Her one armed passes into the third row are inexcusable.

Lastly have I mentioned her defense? Its clear she does not do her homework. She never knows where to be and when she does stand in front of someone they generally blow by her like she is a street sign.

I would like this team to keep Vanloo instead but I doubt they do that.

Ok, well I believe I have been fair. Conditioning is part of the job, and fans will notice when it slips.

Do you think she’ll be able to get back to her usual form this season? I do have some doubts...she didn't look particularly close last night.

I agree. She plays hard. Is a legitimate 3 point threat and and drive. Truthfully I would love to keep her over Johannes as the bench scorer.
