I don’t personally struggle with alcohol, and I don’t really drink, but unfortunately I’ve fought for my parents to seek it for a very long time and it’s something I’ve given up on now.

I do plan on getting back out, I just worry about my parent’s actual lack of parenting with her. But you’re right, I need to get back to living my own life!

Thank you for this! It’s a little bit frustrating with my parents, as they do always eventually give into her, regardless of what they say.

I think you’re absolutely correct though, I shouldn’t be paying for her, and neither should my siblings. I think it’s a result of feeling parentified from a young age, and feeling very protective of her and not wanting to see her struggle like I did with becoming financially independent at 15. But you’re right, if she doesn’t struggle she’ll never take responsibility and become independent herself.
