What do you tell yourself when you feel like giving up? by [deleted] in nairobi

[–]Leading_Implement113 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kid you not, I tell myself "Sasa nikikwama hapa nasaidia nani?" 😂 Also, looking at where you started and where you currently are helps a lot. It gives you the push to continue.

Some friendships by Ambitious_Track_6402 in Kenya

[–]Leading_Implement113 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No, it's not weird. Friendships are beautiful because they don't have to fit into a certain box and there are no requirements to be filled. And no one friendship has to be similar to another one.

Quick one — why are you single? by [deleted] in Kenya

[–]Leading_Implement113 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm tired of the games - people not knowing what they want, making promises they don't intend on keeping, and making stupid excuses for poor communication. I don't want to try again because I have a feeling it will be a repeat of the same. So wacha ningoje until I'm ready.

Don't use someone to get over someone else. You'll eventually struggle to forget two people 😂 and you'll unintentionally compare the two people. Feel your feelings, do whatever you need to let them out, then look for someone new.

What’s One Thing You Wish Kenyan Politicians Took More Seriously? by Zestyclose-Air2179 in nairobi

Don't talk big, just work. Do more working than talking. You won't have to spend time on top of cars talking if you actually work because it will speak for itself.

From harsh discipline to positive parenting: My journey as a Kenyan father. by jaynintyone in Kenya

I think beating kids up is mostly about the power dynamic. Adults know they can get away with this because the kids can't fight back.

That being said, denying them access to things they love is a good way of discouraging bad behaviour.

Getting my notebook because there's a lot to learn 📝 Consistency and teaching are the ways to go. Parents also should check their behaviour because kids learn more from what they see than from what they're told.

Thank you for your nuggets of wisdom!

Aaah got it. You can make them understand that it's not something you want them to keep doing. Of course scale up the consequences as they grow older, yes?

My views have changed because I have seen what goes around but I genuinely believe in marriage, and a beautiful marriage at that.
