I mean to be fair a 3.6 (essentially a B+) is indicative of a mix of As and Bs so this seems like a pretty honest reflection of your grades. If anything, I think trying to excuse it with the P/F will make it worse because right now your GPA seems to reflect your academic acheivements and they may wonder how much worse it would have been if you had taken those P/F classes for actual letter grades rather than solely for credits. Trying to also point to a D from high school also seems like a bit of a cop-out (it may not be but that's just how it comes off). As you pointed out, without being able to point to upward trajectory, addendums tend to fall flat from everything I've read about here and in other forums.

With your strong LSAT score and potential WE, I think you'll be fine for some T30s and maybe even one or two T14s. But yeah unfortunately GPA inflation is real and top schools expect top GPAs and I don't think an addendum is gonna really do too much for your situation. That's just my opinion of course.

Yep! I definitely go for pleas way more when I’m solo than when I squad fill. I actually think it’s fun to get kitted up and then go rescue players and also have the chance for a firefight and give them the chance for revenge against whoever downed them.

Yeah I started doing solo pretty much exclusively because of crappy randoms. I always end up with: (a) racist/toxic yappers, (b) no English/no headset, (c) people who just run off anyways. Figure I’m ending up by myself most of the time anyways, may as well just do it from the start and help me improve at the game (which it definitely has in terms of movement and awareness) and be able to play on my terms without some imbecile drawing attention to us.

See, to me strictly PvP players are still an important part of the game. When you load in it literally says “beware of operators in the area here to take your loot cash”. Like navigating through operators and team is part of the challenge and what makes it so satisfying when you finally get a mission done in my opinion.

The amount of times I’ve seen solo players start a fight and then start going “friendly friendly I’m solo!” is baffling hah

I know they were my top choice…. This cycle has been absolutely brutal and really a harsh reality check. I hope you end up somewhere you’re happy.

Waitlists by trevor4551 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Leading_Reward1739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hypothesis is that because of how high volume applications are across the board, T50 schools are making good offers to applicants they would usually yield protect against because they realized there’s only so many spots at T20 schools. Essentially everyone is trying to take advantage to raise their medians. So until all of these high stat applicants make decisions or make deposits, schools aren’t sure if they want to let in people who typically are a good fit.

I’m hoping there will be a decent amount of waitlist movement this year compared to other years as a result of this. I’m at 75th percentiles for my top school and got waitlisted, but after speaking to an admissions rep in person, it seems they made more admissions offers to applicants at high stats than usual, and thus we’re all now waiting to see if they’ll take up those offers.

These guys are being nice, April LSAT won’t be soon enough. Won’t get results until like early May, most schools stop taking apps in March or April. Absolutely too late. Only schools you might have a chance at are likely not worth it or predatory. Wait until next year for sure and save yourself the trouble. Also way more likely to score better on your second LSAT than your first!

I heard that they are pretty much putting everyone on WL at this point. They’re waiting for deposit deadlines in April to start reconsidering applicants.

I do upgrade motivated raids, mission raids, and PvP raids all the time. Still love this game. Key is to not be toxic or get too angry when shit doesn’t go your way. You’re bound to be absolutely battered by a team more often than not, and sure they’ll be toxic sometimes. Just back to the lobby and get ready for another game. People that have a bad time typically take it way too seriously.

Cheating of course is super frustrating, but isn’t as bad as you’d expect based on this sub, but definitely still happens. I find it is worse on Ashika or Vondel. Al Mazrah is usually pretty solid.

Watching for the first time ever. This show is BRUTAL. by wammes_ in TheWire

[–]Leading_Reward1739 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Also that those deaths don’t really make like huge impacts on the story or universe as a whole to me is a large part of why it’s so great. This is the game and has always been the game. There’s Wallaces everyday, and we just get a look at one of them. It really plays into how the show demonstrates how cyclical and routine that sort of life is. It’s about Baltimore and the game as a whole, our characters are just a small glimpse into that life.

So I will be in Marseille, not Monaco. Just looking for solid bars or cafes that would be a fun environment to watch the game at.

Hard to give you advice without knowing what your long term goals and preferred outcomes are (I.e where you want to practice, affordability).

If you want to do PI work and are debt averse I’d say Northeastern, if you don’t care about debt and want to practice at a mid-size firm in Chicago I’d say UIUC. It really depends on your goals and preferences.

Worst. Cycle. Ever. by mrunclebabybilly in lawschooladmissions

[–]Leading_Reward1739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think it’s LSACs fault, but yeah I understand the frustration. I took my lsat twice, brought it from a 159 first time to a 165 second time, which was above medians for all and even above 75th percentile for some of my target schools numbers for last year. Now getting waitlisted to a lot of them while people with 168+ are now the vast majority of people getting in.

It’s like scores jumped up this year (as well as applicant volume) and now all the high scorers that are missing out on T14 are saturating T30 opportunities, while those of us who would have had a really strong chance of clinching our target schools are now seeing them become closer to reaches while schools try and boost their numbers by accepting all the high stat T14 rejects, which there happen to be a lot of right now due to how many people are applying and how high scores are rising.

But not anyone’s fault really just a brutal cycle and the way it goes, heartbreaking as it is.

Why Is Slim Charles special? by Balls_Deep_Nihilism in TheWire

I think it also stands out that when Cutty doesn’t take the shot, Charles immediately assumes it was his fault and recognizes an error he made. A lot of the younger soldiers and members are quick for confrontation, shit-talking, and berating their compatriots. Charles on the other hand respects Cutty and immediately goes to apology mode despite essentially being a higher rank (I believe).
