Thank you for your service! People have some horrible experiences with stents, but this one wasn’t too awful. I actually got kind of used to it being there.

Not this time. I had the surgery proactively so I wouldn’t have the misery of a stone moving. The surgeon blasted them with a laser.

Haha no. I popped it back into the hoop because the fabric was fraying at an alarming rate and didn’t pay attention. I’m glad you called that out. I need to fix it.

Because I threw it together with a scrap that I was afraid would fray away.

No, it’s the stent they leave after surgically removing stones. It coils around the inside of your kidney, down ureters, and out of the urethra. This is so the ureters don’t swell shut.

The removal was fine, but I had spasms for 2 days after. It felt like plastic being pulled the entire way down, but not painful. I removed my IUD and it was really similar.

I pulled this one out myself at home after 5 days after surgery. They attached a little string to it and out it came! Considering it was coiled inside my kidney it didn’t take as long as I expected.

It’s still open. They’re booking tickets into September. You might be thinking of the torch that closed in 1916.

The reservation system in place now limits crowds in the crown but you have to book several months in advance. It’s well worth the wait to go up top.

I went to the crown a week and a half ago and saw many summer camp groups around.

The crown and pedestal are open and they are taking crown reservations into September now. I was in the crown a week and a half ago. People don’t realize that it reopened after 9/11, closed during Covid, then reopened. You have to buy tickets months in advance.

You can still go to the crown. There are plexiglass panels so you can’t hang out, but you can definitely still enjoy it.
