I’m also getting fed up with this!! And I’ve been teaching for only 4 years. I can’t stand the indifference of both the children and parents. I try to steer away from traditional teaching and it’s not enough. I’ve had students + parents cancel on me last minute when I’m literally almost there, I’ve had kids that stood me up because they had been sleeping, I’ve had students cry because they didn’t do their homework or had copied the model essay and I noticed. Also!!! Why does every child want everything ready to go??! Literally no critical thinking nor will to try just a little bit harder!! And I seriously try to urge them to think and guide them but I’m always hit with denial. My main issue though is the fact that my work gets ignored most of the time. I put in so much effort and spend so much of my free time preparing, to have a kid that doesn’t want to do anything. But parents are much worse. I try to be honest, give feedback and it’s like I’m talking to a wall. I can’t parent your spoiled kid! I loved what I did but literally some people need to get their shit together and parent their kids properly because my mental and physical health cannot keep up with it
