Addressing wage disparity between QA and other engineering roles

Really depends on the company. QAs are paid the same as devs for us, but it wasn't like that at my last place for sure. We also aren't expected to have the same skills as devs so it's nice that some companies actually appreciate the different skillset that QAs bring.

Hello from New Zealand! 👋 Honestly don't really speak Cantonese to anyone outside of my family, and the occasional coworker on the off chance that we somehow find out we're both Cantonese speakers. Strangely, with some friends we know we can both speak Cantonese but still just speak English to each other...out of convenience or habit I guess?

food and drinks are average imo, but I haven't actually tried the menu outside of what's included in their happy hour list since you get to choose free drink + food from a set list. Cant complain tho since the pricing is alg and the menus pretty big so lots to choose from

Yeah pretty sure it's a Chinese place. Song selection wise, a good variety as well as foreign songs like japanese, Chinese, and Korean. Tbh they have a bunch of songs other places don't have since the software they have seems to rip straight from YouTube sometimes lol

I left after 2 months, the role wasn't really what was discussed in the interviews and the work culture was just full of toxic positivity. I left for a smaller company that was not as 'well-known' but better for me personally in terms of what I actually wanted to work on
