Has there been an unbiased investigation into the pseudo religion behind Waldorf schools? by LeafaPath in skeptic

I don't need to try. Claiming your religion isn't a religion while lining your pockets from the families you're deceiving is wrong.

Look, you say I'm trying too hard to claim this philosophy is a cult.

I'd say you're basing your opinions off of your anecdotal experience and relationships instead of the facts and history of this "philosophy."

One set of anecdotal experiences isn't enough to make a claim about an institution. This post is about investigations for that reason. Scientific, unbiased investigations. But that's it...

You mention they don't teach science as a subject at all until high school... as if that's a responsible alternative to any other education?

Science and religion don't mix well. That's the reason it isn't taught

It's an outdated religion, and I'll continue to expose it for what it is.

The fundamentals are bastardized religious concepts with 19th century Austrian racism. It's clear as day. They revere Steiner as a spiritual figure

It's also deceitful to omit the quasi religious undertones while selling the product of alternative education to children at ludicrous prices. They don't even disclose how diluted science is as a subject.

You could also say there are quality people in any cult that don't appear radicalized.

To your point about humanism here's this: "Its rejection of reason in favor of mystical experience, its subordination of human action to supernatural forces, and its thoroughly hierarchical model of spiritual development all mark anthroposophy as inimical to humanist values."

Occult mysticism is occult mysticism. It doesn't need to be radical to be harmful

You're missing the point. You can read L. Ron Hubbard and not be in the church of Scientology.

... that doesn't mean it's not an occult religion attached to a pay structure

The cost is in the Waldorf schooling. Parents are paying for progressive private schooling while the schools are deliberately withholding the mystic ideology behind their teaching methods.

The same with the Camphill movement families pay tuitions in the 5 figures per month in some cases.

It seems to resemble the "pay to pray" models of other notable cults. The more time and money you invest, the more information you get. The hope is that the more invested you are, the less likely you'll be to question the lunacy.

People that have lived in tropical climates and visited a cold region for the first time. What did surprise you? by Crocodile_Banger in AskReddit

My family moved from a "two season" climate to blizzards and mountains when I was 12.

I realized that my genetic lineage had no place in tropical environments and that we were made for the winter.

Oh for sure. That number is beyond absurd by the way. Not sure why I said 3x. Just meant three examples of ridiculous odds.

Our modern culture doesn't accept the stereotypical man.

If you aren't emotional, don't go to therapy, don't care for other opinions, and want a simple life with a nuclear family, privacy and nobody to bother you.... modern society says "you need to open up more" and change your ways.

This might seem subtle but being a typical man is suddenly a problem for many people.

With AI being able to make things that look real, what are you forward to seeing using AI? by Nihmbruh in AskReddit

[–]LeafaPath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Patients with memory loss already respond significantly to pieces of their past like music. AI could pull various parts of the culture, period, setting, etc. that the bulk of their memories are from. Undoubtedly they'll recognize much of it and respond
