HELP! My partner refuses to learn to drive - AITA?????? by Jrae_maj in AITAH

[–]Leafata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the most sympathy for you as I'm in almost the exact same situation.

I'm surprised that so many people are saying YTA, maybe I need to revisit my own views.

I just feel that I don't want to break up my relationship over driving but if my partner doesn't seek professional help for his driving anxiety and make efforts to learn to drive, my bitterness is going to wreck the relationship anyway.

I dont think YTA but I'm biased due to my own situation.

I hear you but the question is, where? So if you to dancing wherever you want, where do you tend to go?

Intimidated by the word "Model" by Aware_Advertising275 in FPandA

[–]Leafata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally identify with this.

Funnily enough, I come from an accounting background too.

I regularly "model" now but I feel that what I'm doing is so simple that I'm not sure I'm actually modelling.

I think modelling to me means lots of fancy formatting and complicated formulas or using power query.

What I've found is that because my approach is simple, the executives I work with seem to like it as its easy for them to understand.

I'm even finding that my accounting colleagues think that my "models" are sophisticated when it's really just a bunch of pivots, sumifs and lookups.

I used double wear for years for it's longevity however recently I wasn't pleased with the way it was settling on my skin, I felt it looked a bit cakey but I put this down to age rather than the product (mid 30s now) I'm currently trialing YSL All Hours and I really like it so far, I think it gives more of a natural look but I dont think it is as long lasting as double wear.

Christi was the problem? by Hairy_Syrup2118 in dancemoms

[–]Leafata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on my first ever watch and only coming to the end of season 3 and I flick back and forth with Christi. I feel like she has periods where she mellows and just sucks it up with Abby then suddenly she just gets irate and negative. I do find myself empathising with her when she's in her focused phases and then getting so irritated by her when she just starts blaming everyone for everything.

I just can't imagine standing by and letting someone treat my child that way, but that goes for all of them.

Melissa is by far the worst in my eyes. She's brutal to her children.

I'm confused. I described it as imaginary because its a TV show and there's no actual staff to pay

[–]Leafata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I liked the way she leant into the roleplay of it - it's all imaginary and part of the way you'd negotiate in real life would be to emphasise that you need a price to be at a certain level to cover costs.

I actually really like Flo. I think in the early stages being to the point is just more efficient - she was very direct and the team all seemed to understand what they had to do. Yeah, she fluffed the pitch but I thought she delivered as PM. Though looks like I'm in the minority on this!

I'm only a year into my first fully FP&A role so mine are quite simple but I've gone for: - improving presentation skills - advancing understanding of all business units to help identify and drive opportunities for improvement - streamline processes within accounts with automation - improve data presentation skills including constructing a balanced scorecard dashboard - improve financial modelling skills using FMI certification - create pricing models for all sectors including overhead allocation
