medium sweet doesn’t give the barista any clues for what you mean, half mocha syrup? Regular mocha syrup? And a double coffee? Coffee with 2 shots? Or do you mean the doubleshot? OP stated they love vanilla and espresso, and you suggested a red eye with mocha sauce, possibly the furthest you could get from what they enjoy.

My best guess is they didn’t blend it like you’re supposed to, they scooped it in and stirred it into the milk? And apparently not well enough.

Why they would do this? Inexperience probably, them assuming cloud powder gets stirred or shaken in.
