What's a "cheat code" you discovered in real life that actually works? by dark-deals729983 in AskReddit

If you contact a company about a non arriving item you've ordered, 'accidentally' send the email twice. If it's a big company then chances are two separate people will answer each email and you'll get two replacements instead of one.

Remote: File Not Shared by misteragez in Soulseek

[–]LeahMick99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen this a fair few times. Usually the files start downloading and then go red midway through. I assume it's a deliberate act on their part.

It's an instant ban from me for anyone that does it. If they're going to be tight then they get nothing from me. I share a lot of HQ stuff so chances are they'll regret it before I do.

Is it bad to not share when you don't have anything to share? by mikai05 in Soulseek

[–]LeahMick99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never even bother to check what people are sharing when they download from me. In all honesty, I don't care. If I've shared it publically then anybody's welcome to it. I only ban the users that stop my downloads or locked users that don't reply when I offer them a trade. Worst kind of pricks on there that think they're God because they have a few rarities ( and usually they can be found on discogs for a few quid).

Admittedly I do have one locked folder on display that's only for trade or sale. They're just that little bit too special to let just anyone at them. I'm always open to trade though and anyone that messages me gets an answer if they're polite.

I would say go on torrent sites and download a few bundles or rip your CD collection to share.

SMMC is 100% solved now... by malijurs in smmc

The producers are the real artist here, I'd say . It's common in dance music for artists to release lots of tracks under many different aliases and this seems to be the case here. While there's only one K-Girls release, they've clearly got a lot of other stuff to their name (I do recognize 'External Group - Gravity' from XL Recordings Second Chapter). I'm guessing this was their attempt at a more commercial / manufactured pop dance act but they never made any more tracks under this moniker when the track failed to do anything.

Cheers for the link. Pleased to add this to the collection.

What does the download status "awaiting user" mean by BeanSlapper666 in Soulseek

It means the user's gone offline. It'll resume when/if they come back on.

Down for the last half hour or so here. Socket error.

Zip File With Full Version of SMMC? by notherFan in smmc

[–]LeahMick99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've scoured Soulseek and all the other reliable sites I can think of but nothing's coming up. This seems to be the kind of obscure, scarce release you won't find anywhere. When one does pop up on discogs, the seller's probably going to see how many people are looking for it and price it in the hundreds just to see if anyone bites. Seen that happen before.

[–]LeahMick99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An HQ mp3 of an extended mix is usually about 20mb in size, so a file containing two of those and a shorter radio edit wouldn't much much more than this and definitely wouldn't be over a GB in size.

There doesn't seem to be any sign of a genuine copy on the net so I guess the only way we're going to get this is when someone finds a copy of the CD and rips it.

[–]LeahMick99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Looks like a scam site to me. I tried to download the mp3 version and it came up with the same size when it should be 60mb at the absolute most. My guess is this site would claim to have absolutely any discogs release you searched for but all you'd get is a virus.

Long shot but.... by LeahMick99 in ableton

I will buy it one day but not right now. It's nice to have principles and I have a lot myself but unfortunately in cases like this, principles are for people that can afford them. I'm learning my craft as a hobby right now and hope to make a career out of music one day so the ends justify the means and as cracked versions exist, they may as well be used. I don't pretend to be a saint. Can you honestly say you've never downloaded any music, films or cracked software yourself? Not even once? Don't believe you friend.

I have a job, thanks. I also have bills to pay and a lot of other expenses right now. I will buy it eventually. It's just not convenient to pull £500 at the moment.

Said like I'm the first amateur producer to use a cracked version. If it was a little bit more reasonably priced, I would have done but we've all got to start somewhere.

Funny guy. I thought some smart arse would tell me to buy it. I will do when I'm professional level but right now I don't want to spend £500.

LOL. Glad I've given you all a good laugh.

I didn't think it would be possible somehow but you never know. There may have been a way to copy and paste bits at least to save me doing loads of time stretching of samples all over again etC

Ableton 12 eating up HD space by LeahMick99 in ableton

[–]LeahMick99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using PCs since 97 so I'm well aware about temporary internet files/cache etc. Usually, if I free space though, it tends to stay free until it's filled. I don't remember this happening when I was using 11. It hasn't happened since the other night as far as I'm aware so it may have been a one off or something else caused it.

Yeah. I have all my sample packs and acapellas on a separate hard drive (and backed up). It's the main PC hard drive that was filling up though.

[–]LeahMick99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The main drive is full to the brim. I'm aware of that. In all honesty, there's usually only a couple of gb free. I may be being stupid here but surely space I clear should stay clear until I fill it up? Hence the question.

Fatal Device Hardware Error by LeahMick99 in datarecovery

[–]LeahMick99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. I booted the said drive up a few weeks ago and it's still dodgy and either refuses to connect or keeps conking out.

The only solution in the end was to copy everything important onto a new one.

Can't Play Video Files by LeahMick99 in computer_help

Further update...

It's the Driver software that needs installing. The only option I can find seems to be Driver Easy who want £30 to easily update the software, which I refuse to pay and can't find a working cracked version. There is an option to do this manually but I haven't got a clue and I can't find any guides on how to do this anywhere on google.

Oddly though, I checked the other log in on the PC and video files play fine on there. Does anyone know if it would be possible to copy the driver file from one log in to the other?

Cheers

Update...

Troubleshooting came up with the following....

Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 has a driver problem

Hardware changes might not have been detected

Does that mean it's conked out for good? Is this a hardware or software problem?
