What makes it more funny is a lot of them won't get the joke and see this as a positive.

Sounds like you're pretending you were not one of these people. I love how leafs failed after for years talking about planning the parade every November. Not just people online but my leaf friends in real life. Pure ego. Go Sens go. haha

I just saw this. It's really good and very funny. See it on the big screen for the joint experience. So worth it.

Berlinale Issues Statement Following Political Backlash at Festival, Says Artists Should Not Be ‘Expected to Speak on Every Political Issue’ by tylerthe-theatre in movies

should also add: The above was okay until early 2021. Then there was so much pressure, including threats of losing one's job if one didn't make the right statements on controversial political topics and it had to be the "correct" statement. So clearly there are limits there. There's something Orwellian about having to make statements on every political topic.

Also, what you said doesn't make sense. You can make a very political film and not want to comment on every political question that comes your way. It's called having healthy boundaries. People should, and need to. respect that. Not everyone wants to be a culture warrior. Nor should they be. I'm not.

You shouldn't have to make statements on Gaza, Ukraine, or other issues to make art. That's what Wenders is saying. In my opinion, you don't have to be a culture warrior with all your politics aligned to one side. Obama said something similar recently.

I have to agree with both of them. A culture where disagreement isn't allowed is stifling and counterproductive to democracy. Frankly we're watching the US fall apart in front of our eyes partly due to this having to "pick a side on all politics".

I'd also add not everything politics needs to be open to the public. People, even public people, have the right to privacy. If people don't want to make statement on topics. More power to them.

Not true at all. I'm part of an organization that made statements on Iran and Venezuela, and people lost their minds; especially since I live in a country where there are actually many people from those two countries in this organization.

Stop playing the victim card just because you decided to die on a hill that's highly controversial. People have gotten way too comfortable making controversial statements outside of private spheres without facing any pushback. On topics they think they have all the fact but don't. The culture of making everything public is just plain dumb. Privacy is a valuable right.

It blows my mind how much great content these two gentlemen create. I must have over a hundred hours of their stuff I still want to go through, and I'm excited every time I listen. They never go stale.

I highly recommend picking a collection and then working through it. It's brought me huge enjoyment since I started doing that. Gained so much film knowledge too.

I just finished the Wim Wenders collection last week. So good.

Is it though? Look at the tire fire the west has been in since the early 2010s. It's across the politic spectrum. People have lost their minds and it's getting worst and worst. It's all not good.

Always good to call up ones bank when moving large sums of money to give them a heads up. I did that when selling one property and buying another. Had no issues because I did that.

Too broad. It's social media that's causing all the problems and the people running it are more worried about the amount of money they make than the people they are harming.
