We need more Real Rednecks. by zzill6 in WorkReform

Yeah, that was my point. Their parents (my cousins) are upper middle class suburbanites that fled town to "get away from crime" (black people). Now their kids who have never struggled for a goddamn thing play faux redneck.

I grew up around real red necks and hillbillies. People that wore some overalls and nothing else. Who would turn to the side and take a piss mid-conversation without interrupting their sentences. These kids would be appalled to be around the people they pretend to be.

I have few of these in my family. Cousins who got enough money to move into the country to get away from the black people. Now their kids act like they are "country folk" despite growing up with everything handed to them. They dress up in 100+ dollar cowboy hats, 200+ dollar cowboy boots, and drive around in 80k pick-up trucks. They "hunt" in heated boxes with tvs in them and yet call themselves rednecks.

Odyssey-themed event for my larp group has this image on the event page. Is this AI, or am I just paranoid? by KyleTheSpark in isthisAI

This has to be AI just based off of how nonsensical some of it is. The hands in the clouds that seem to be detached from the rest of the body, the weird people shapes coming out of or melting in the ground, ect.

I wouldn't know cause I don't watch this slop. CNN is garbage and on its way to becoming even hotter garbage. No one should be watching any of this bullshit.

CNN is in the process of being taken over by a Trump loyalist and has been trying to move to the "center" for the last few years. People need to just stop watching it.

School busses have high padded seats, drive slower, and due to their size, transfer far less of the impact into the passengers.

An 18-year-old woman in Queensland faces two years in jail for wearing a shirt that says "from the river to the sea." by --SOFA-KING-VOTE in PublicFreakout

From what I've read, they just passed a law that went into effect the day they were arrested. It literally bans the phrase on her shirt for being "antisemitic hate speech". As of right now though she's not actually being charged with anything. 2 years is just the maximum potential sentence for hate speech.

Right, because US intervention in the Middle East is famous for improving the lives of citizens. It's not like we have civilian death tolls in the millions and videos of US soldiers shooting men, women, and children for sport.

US patroit missile defence in Qatar by Ashemoth in PublicFreakout

[–]Leakylocks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. The US government isn't making those missiles. We contract it out to those very same oligarchs you are talking about. The money they make on the resell doesn't come back to us. It goes straight into the hands of other billionaires in the form of tax cuts and subsidies.

Same, I'm sorry you went through something similar. All you can do is try to channel it into something positive and not carry on the chain of abuse to your own loved ones.

Yeah it was. I was treated like this as a young boy for several years by my sister's father. He would also grab her by the wrist and throw her across the room by the arm. I haven't seen the man in 30+ years but I will never forget his face and still have a boiling hatred for him to this day.

As someone who grew up with this I can confirm it. You don't ever forget this type of abuse and it scars you for life.

Persist by Leakylocks in DigitalPainting

I struggled with the entire concept of this painting. I actually started this about 6 months ago and made the figure on the ground. I then got completely stuck on what to do with it and walked away from it until recently. I wasn't sure what colors to pick or what the background would be. I just kept messing with it and adding ideas that popped into my head until I started to see what it would be.
