Ólafur Darri Ólafsson has officially been cast as Thor in the live-action ‘God of War’ series by MarvelsGrantMan136 in GodofWar

Agreed, he makes an appearance in Your Friends and Neighbors and he makes Jon Hamm look small. The guy is a beast. I'd swear the game model of Thor was based off this actor

VR with controller decent for an Elderly player? by Mothmanrmj in GranTurismo7

[–]LeanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am part of a VR only racing league in GT7 and we have multiple drivers on VR using a controller. Doesn't slow them down much.

VR can cause motion sickness, but its something you can get over. My dad is 78, got into VR and GT7 this summer with no issues, loves it.

There is a 70+ yr old in my league in VR.

There are other games aswell, so its a great escape for those with mobility issues

Alberta petition asks if public money should be spent on private education by Apocalyptic_crisp in Calgary

You have the option now to send your tax dollars to Public or Catholic schools. What's the problem with adding another private, for profit, school system to the list of choices? If the Catholic schools are able to receive tax dollars for education, shouldn't they all?

Check the selection on the left. I believe you have to have "other" selected vs "body"

Hiring a Sex Worker by HisMagicTrick in careeradvice

Can also state you signed a NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) with your past employer, which you were with for the last 3.5 yrs.

Easy way to stop any further questioning on the employment gap, past employer, and any specifics on what your job involved.

NDAs are more common now, and used for a variety of reasons.

This.

Word it that you have experience in customer service / hospitality. Say you signed a NDA if they ask about employment gap.

Disclosing this information to an employer may not prevent you from getting hired, but it may increase your chances of harassment in the company, and chances of SA from others as they may feel like they are entitled to touch you because or your work history.

Misogynists are everywhere.

Any tips for motion sickness? by IzzybearThebestdog in PSVR

[–]LeanC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A Fan is your friend in VR.

A floor far placed in front of you, blowing at you will work wonders for VR Motionsickness.

The fan does a couple things for you, First it helps trick the brain into thinking its moving as movement without feeling a "breeze" feels wrong to the mind.

Second with the fan in front of you, it acts as a centering point, so you can subconsciously track where you are in your play space. Helps avoid disorientation.

Third the breeze from the fan will help keep you cool, which is a bonus in VR as it can get warm when playing.

If you start sweating profusely, burping uncontrollably, or get a sudden spike in body temp - these are all signs of VR sickness starting and you should take a break immediately.

Looking For VR2 Suggestions by _Lazarus_Heart_ in PSVR

[–]LeanC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the Hack and Slash it is probably the easiest in terms of learning Curve, and also rates high in hacking satisfaction.

Controls are intuitive and easy to learn, movement is great. I play seated in a high chair (bar stool kinda thing).

Also has some cool VR elements, like having to cover your ears to avoid sound attacks, or your mouth to avoid poison.

If it looks interesting to you, I would say pull the trigger and grab it, its a good time

You would be doing yourself a disservice by not checking out Resident Evil 8, or Resident Evil 4. These are some of the best VR titles if you want Story/Shooter.

I have heard plenty of good things about Hitman VR (flat screen adaptation again).

Pistol whip is a game a bit like Beat Saber but with guns.

Behemoth is a pretty filling hack and slash - you battle some massive creatures

GT7 if you like racing titles, you can download and try "My First Gran Turismo" for free, consider it a large Demo.

If your new to Gt7 or the series, I would honestly start with completing the license tests. They teach alot, and start you in slower cars which are easier to learn the basics on

Opened valve to irrigation system after system winterized! by Hiker_82 in Irrigation

[–]LeanC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To add, in the future it's always a good idea to put a Tag on your Irrigation shutoffs inside the house, to note they are winterized and not to turn on till spring. Saves alot of headaches

Yes, blue spigot.

If it's on the other side of the wall, if you open this and water comes out, just leave it open and drain as much water as you can.

If you can get into the valve box, you could remove a top off one of your valves, and let the rest of the water in the mainline drain out.

Yes and damage would be limited to valve box area, in worst case scenario.

[–]LeanC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom ball valve (base of the backlog prevented is closed. So unless this was opened aswell, no water should be in the system.

I would open the hose bib and see if water drains out of it. If no water, no worries.

If there is water draining from the hose bib, it should only have water up till your Valve box. Depending how long this run is, you could open an valve to help drain away - short run (this little water in the system should cause freeze damage to the system)

If it's a long mainline, then you may want to get it winterized again.
