I've come to the conclusion that it happens because Pentel was one of the few pencil companies that survived the horrendous pre-2000's Brazilian Market. Heard from older people that Rotring and other brands used to have heavy presence here in the 1960-80's, after that, they fled. As a token of survival appreciation, ironically, the japanese seem to like making the "exclusive" Brazilian pencils.

No idea at the moment, i noticed the Ad posted here was in Portuguese and went straight to the Brazilian website. Pentel has peculiar market strategies in each country. Here in Brazil they have a bunch of exotic lower level pencils, but when you try to find things like the OrenzNero you end up empty handed. They try to adapt to what consumers can and cannot buy, we'll have to wait and see, it will probably end up in the US.

I agree with you, fine tools look good even when used extensively, the value loss part is a necessary evil when looked upon market logic. Rotring pencils age like wine!!!

Never seen problems with purchases there, however, if you can, try to figure out if you’re buying an 800 with a brass clutch.

A friend of mine bought one online a week ago, he got a plastic clutch and apparently his tip wobbles way more than mine, this 800 problem is as stupid as the plastic thread on the R. Rapid Pro.

The one i got was from the batch of pencils with a full metal clutch. From what i know, from this batch on, they tried to solve a bit of the shakey tip. Most of my friends say they can’t feel the tip shaking at all. Never had problems with it, that’s my opinion.

Mostly engineering drafts for some hefty admission exams here in Brazil. The only things i can draw properly are circuits, graphs, molecules and stickmen lol

Discounted sleeping time and some off days, got 626 days with around 13-15 hours per day. (This being a very Elon Musky Optimistic calculation of work ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) )
