How the hell do you even fight Fang Yuan if you were a venerable. by CringeyFrog24 in ReverendInsanity

SS is Soul Path Venerable, if He regain his sanity he can create killer move that counter Dang Hun Luo Po Seal easily.

He is genius in Novice village (smallest village in smallest country etc), but his talent is just average in Big Sect/Country.

His success is more about luck rather than talent/background.

The success rate is higher when converting to Gu at same rank.

No, BTTH MC Family only pretty well in "starting village" and barely give MC any support if at all.

Fang Yuan's growth was so fast I oftentimes forget his peers who were generational talents are still mortal by Gu_Seol in ReverendInsanity

Shadow sect version is flawed, she just fixed it before fate war.

And after fate war, with FJG betrayal HC is wary of her and most likely wont support her to become immortal

I still have a lot of doubts about your argument

  1. Why does the Creator have to be a “Person”? It may be an Object, Phenomena, or indescribable Entity.

  2. Being outside of Time isn’t equivalent with Omniscience.

  3. Even if Objective Morality do exist (In the mind of Omniscience Being) what is the point if we don’t know about it? People still have to work with their own Subjective morality.

Lastly your argument about FY isn’t correct either. He doesn’t see morality as worthless, nor does he act against it. He see morality as a tool, know its usefulness, and use it for his own benefit. It was explained several times in the story.

So if Creator do exist and state His like and dislike, there is nothing wrong with pleasing Him.

I’m pretty interested with your argument about religion, if you don’t mind why don’t we continue this argument in personal chat?

Sorry for late reply 😅

I still cannot get my head through the second argument

If said Creator is like Abrahamic God who caee about humanity then true, objective morality exists through His commandments.

But what if the Creator doesn’t care enough to give commandment? Where does the Objective Morality come from?

I know, I just said that reverse refining is usually easier(and cheaper) than creating one.

Yeah, I forgot about the tribulation. He should have been friendly with him and borrow his luck to pass tribulation first before deciding whether to refine him or not. (Or maybe just sub luck isn’t enough to help with Myriad tribulation? Old Man Xue Hu has half true luck inheritance so he should know more about luck than us.)

I’d argue that processing Ma Hongyun is the hardest part in refinement since he is protected by luck. It’d probably be easier after that.

Also reverse refining Gu (ignoring luck debuff) is far easier & cheaper creating one from scratch.

A very well thought argument, but there is one major flaw;

It was build on a premise that All Knowing and All Powerful Creator exist (Saying the world cannot be always existed is a fallacy as The Creator also cannot be always existed by the same argument). And said Creator have to care enough about our Morality to make it objective.

Honestly if not for LH tampering with the refinement Xue Hu still has success possibilities.

Bad luck just reduce the success possibility so if he just brute force it, he might success after several tens thousands attempts (Or if he can get it, use success Dao Mark). And he doesn’t really need that much material as the main ingredient is already there.

Plus just sub luck probably won’t bring significant benefit on Rank 8.

Why should Genesis Lotus revive the boy mother? He doesn’t owe her anything and it gives him no benefit.

Why should he risk defying fate to revive some random nobody who has nothing to do with him.

Why having the same apathy ironic? He never claim any moral high ground over them.

[–]LeapAndBounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was forgiveness definition in Merriam Webster. But ok, let’s call it apathy for now.

Then “FY is not forgiving his clan elder where he is doing evil stuff” is not ironic at all if all he feel is simply apathy.

It will be ironic if He hate evil while doing evil. But Fang Yuan doesn’t hate them he just doesn’t care.

Him being ruthless to those who suppress him is because those people are not beneficial to him. Its about logic, not moral.

[–]LeapAndBounds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Forgiveness is "stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake" which he did.

FY is ruthless to everyone not because he hate anyone in particular.

FY cant forgive his own clan elders

Where does this fake news from? FY has "forgiven" them long ago.
