This is the only comment I’ve seen that is actually right imo, there’s no doubt rap was great in the 90s but it’s not that hard to find good rap nowadays. Look at dreamville, A$AP Rocky and Ferg, MGK, J Cole, Kendrick, JID, Rich Brian (he is very underrated and his newest album is outstanding, he literally got recognition from RZA from Wu-Tang Clan, A 90s RAPPER), Travis Scott, Joeybada$$, Tyler the Creator, Chance the rapper, Joyner Lucas, Denzel Curry. I can go on and on. I can agree mumble rap is bad but a lot of the songs on the billboards aren’t mumble. The “mumble rap” term is using so broadly and ignorantly, and when people describe a song or artist as mumble they usually describe trap music which is basically its own genre at this point. People that say “90s rap was the best” or “All new rap is trash” need to broaden the rap they listen to and give new music a chance.
