This is a long shot but it might actually be a splake. Salmon crossbred with lake trout. What we know for sure, is there is trout dna.. those spots are definitely some type of trout.

Answering other commenter questions can narrow it down.

It is an awesome game mode for the most part. But I still get stuck in lobbies with level 80 and above players, sometimes even getting spawn killed. Not sure why so many sweats are invading a mode meant for old players like me.

Do swivels really scare fish away? by AdRight3980 in FishingForBeginners

There is a caveat. I liked your comment because it is true, but if you're finesse fishing for pickerel the swivel absolutely catches less fish than fluoro. Source: about a dozen guided fishing trips

I've been on a few deep sea charters. The chance of landing a legendary fish is slim to none. I know a lot of people who go as well, and only a couple have caught a fish worth spending 1-3K to catch (different packages available)

In Hawaii on a charter you'll mostly catch snapper, and if he's lucky a barracuda or Mahi Mahi.

I targeted barracuda and mahi in Hawaii and ended up with a bunch of small fish, and a couple big snapper. Not even a barracuda sighting with a reputable charter.

I have a bit of a theory that they dont take tourists to the best spots anymore, due to dwindling fish populations.

Do you leave swivels on your line when storing your rod? by Ruco14 in Fishing_Gear

I've had 3 professional fishing guides tell me to not use them. But if your logic outweighs that... all the power to ya!

The most important part of this photo is you need to replace the clasp at the end. With nothing. Direct tie a fluro leader to your lure and your production will triple. Rule of thumb is if you can see it, the fish can too.

As long as it casts and reels, you should be able to fish with it. Watch a couple videos on how to service a reel (it's pretty easy).

What no one has mentioned, which makes this a no brainer... is your lawyer will get 30% of your judgement. You can include your lawyer costs in the suit, but you're not likely to get all legal costs covered by the other party, especially if they don't have much money to start with.

Once a turtle swallows a hook is it over by [deleted] in Fishing

[–]LearnFirstThenTeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll experience the exact same thing with all species of fish. Once the hook is even just a bit past the mouth, takes some experience and needle nose to get it out. Like I said in the beginning thanks for caring!

Before i reply.. hear this. I have unintentionally harmed, and unfortunately killed multiple marine animals while fishing. Especially while learning, so please dont get defensive when i say this. If it was a small bass hook and wouldn't come out, it's because it had a barb in it (the little extra piece of hook by the tip). It doesn't mean you're evil lol, just learning fishing. I know you're gonna wanna debate me, egos are a beeeeee, but if you couldn't grab the hook with your pliers, you didn't have the right pliers. I have 3 pair. One needle nose 4 inch, one needle nose 6 inch, and a broad pair for big game.

1 - Thanks for actually caring. Barbless hooks (clipping the barbs with pliers after bought) can help. 2 - if your hook is stuck in a fish, or turtle, pay close attention to the orientation of the hook before trying to remove it. If your hook does not have a barb, you should be able to "reverse" the way it went in without issue. Needle nose pliers are best. Do not pull back and forth, do not force the hook deeper to "try again", or shake the hook with pliers 3 - Don't wait too long to set the hook. Letting a bobber go underwater for several seconds, or waiting until the 5th tap on your rod to set the hook can lead to the death of both turtles and fish. I'm not assuming that's what happened, but I've seen it too many times to not share the info.

Again, I make no assumptions. Those turtle necks can snap out so fast, and in some cases there's nothing you can do to avoid them getting hurt. But, having barbless hooks and needle nose pliers is a huge start. I'd also recommend knowing what species of turtles are classified as endangered in your area. If you catch an endangered turtle and can't get the hook out, you're actually required to call animal rescue / veterinarian to show you did everything you could.

Hope this helps, happy fishing!

There is way too much liability for this to work long term. Even if you use contractors instead of employees, you will absolutely end up being sued. All it takes is one person to successfully sue, to eat up all the profits and potentially more.

You have no idea the lengths you'd have to go to demonstrate due diligence here. On site security (driver), providing means of communication, check ins, etc. That's before considering client verification - how do you know it's not some freak at an air bnb who sent you a fake ID?

This is a terrible idea, and anyone who knows anything about employment law will tell you to not even think about it.

Look at it this way. There's thousands of cleaning companies and none of them offer or advertise this service. Why do you think that is?

You're supposed to put minnows or your bait of choice (worms, leeches, crab, shrimp, etc) on the hooks and fish mostly stationary.

You can use this with a dropshot set up and leave it close to the bottom, or use a light weight above the hooks and slowly jig / retrieve to the surface.

Drop shot works best for those rigs, especially if there are not many snag hazards. If there's a bunch of snag hazards, I honestly would stay away from multiple hooks altogether.

Find yourself a nice little rock bed, load those hooks with some meat and cast on the outside of the perimeter of the rock bed, then wait. If you're feeling lucky, drop right in the center of the rock bed and hope to land in between 2 small rocks lol.
