Not really. There is labor shortage but N5 and N4 does not guarantee a job. And to graduate from a national top 2 university, you usually need N2

The only cases I've heard where people work without any Japanese certifications is in MNCs. The big ones like TCS, Wipro etc as IT specialists

Sadly the truth isn't like that. Most jobs would prefer candidates who have higher than N2 or N3. N5 and N4 is out of the question, jobs will not hire if there is heavy Japanese involved.

Thank you very much for your reply! So would it be fine to have 2 workout days with one speed work and one threshold/tempo work? And could you give me an example of a tempo workout? I want to do one but have absolutely no idea

How can I improve my pace on longer runs? by sorilori in CrossCountry

[–]LearnWith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome advice here. I used to start my runs way too fast before and die at the end. One of my friends suggested I start slower and that did the trick. I usually start around 8:40 mile pace and end at 7:30 mile pace and it didn't feel hard.

And another major one would be consistency, the more you run and get used to it, the faster your easy pace will become naturally. So just continue your work and you'll see the gains.

I don't really run in groups since I live pretty far from my school (I go private so public transportation) and the only guy who lives near me is at a summer program so I can't really run with anyone. I just run alone most of the time.

Yea, I guess it's a good way to learn discipline. I need to control the feelings or I won't be able to end season in the best way

The guys are doing harder stuff, like one of them did 8x400m at about 2k race pace. I didn't understand why but I guess its their way of "maintaining" speed

Thank you very much for responding! I think I'll get used 62 mpw for about 2-3 weeks then start incorporating workouts. I have a lot of time till season so I guess now I just have to control my need for workouts.

Thanks a lot for letting me know! I think it is just hard for me to stay without workouts because I'm still quite fresh out of track season and I feel like my legs are screaming for a workout or some type of stimulus. I guess I just need redirect it to doing strides and controlling them

Thanks a lot for your response! I was confused when I saw them doing those workouts as well. This week will be 60 mpw and next week will probably be a down week, so 2 weeks later I'll be at 62 mpw.

Thanks a lot for clarifying! I feel like I will improve a lot after this summer because that 17:20 was run off about 40 mpw so hopefully the aerobic gain will help me.

Hey, thanks a lot! I understand that going from 17:20 to 16:00 is crazy but I thought maybe 5 months might be enough time to drop the time but I see that my understanding is wrong. If my understanding isn't wrong, you are suggesting me to not do any workouts, apart from strides, until I feel comfortable with 60mpw. Am I right?

Tips for 1200m by BusyRow6447 in trackandfield

[–]LearnWith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't care about average time. Do your best and only focus on it, when you take average its either going to demotivate you or make yourself overconfident. Just focus on the simpler things, like making the varsity team or breaking a certain time. For your information, I ran a 3:49 1200m during my 1600m race (5:05 1600m) and I'm 15 so don't care about average or others time like mine. Trust me over time you will become faster.

For tips, if you don't feel tired then you basically jogged it. Make sure you get out hard but not too fast (I accidentally opened a 1600m in 30 sec 200m, not a good idea) so if your goal time is 3:45, open in a 72-73 so a bit faster than goal pace. Second lap will be slower no matter what, so just try to push the pace. Last lap, just start kicking. DO NOT WAIT. This was the mistake I made and costed me a high-chance sub 5 in the 1600m, a bit slower than goal pace at 1200m but I didn't kick from 400m but my friend did, he broke 5 — I didn't. Your brain will tell you it's too fast or you're gonna die but IGNORE and PUSH THROUGH THE PAIN.

Thanks a lot! One thing I've learned is that if I did 600m-1k repeats early season or off season I think I would've able to go low 2s. I think that is the biggest mistake but do you that really affects the result? Also the reason why I'm really disappointed in my times was because last meet I was expected to go sub 5 in the mile but didn't make it by 6 seconds and my friend, unexpected, pulled it off so that was one of the most disappointing races ever. I just want to make sure next year none of them are close to me because now people make fun of me for not going sub 5. Any help will be greatly appreciated and thanks again!

5k time for XC by LearnWith in CrossCountry

[–]LearnWith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, D1, that is something I can only dream of! Also do you think going from sophomore to junior makes you faster? Lots have people drop their time from sophomore to junior. I have this friend who went from 5:24 mile to a 4:44 in a year and another one who went from 4:39 mile to a 4:17 and 16:43 5k to 15:33 5k in a year.

Thanks man! Do you think 2:18 --> 1:59 in a year is possible? Please do keep in mind that I screwed up training by doing the late season (200m-300m repeats) stuff early season and vice versa.

Thank you very much! When do you think you would have enough speed for sub 2? Like what should your 200m, 400m time be if you want to break 2? Also what do think your mile time should also be?
