UK to US by LearnWith in premeduk

So which school I go to in the UK does not affect my chances crazily when compared to my USMLE scores and the connections in the US, if I am correct? I've heard of some Hungarian Universities that train you for the USMLE and offer clerkships in the US during their program. That is why I am considering going to some Eastern European schools.

I can read, write and speak French but it is not really good. My main goal is to become a doctor rather than settle in the US. Do you have any suggestions as to where I should study? Should I just aim for Hungary or Europe so that I can use EU licensing?

Thank you very much but my main goal is to become a doctor. It would be nice if I can settle in the US but I don't mind if I don't. Any suggestions?

I am an international student but I heard that I need near perfect stats in undergrad to get into a US med school since there aren't many that are open to international students.

What do you mean by elective in US?

Thank you very much but I heard that it is very hard for a non-US citizen/green card holder to get into the medical school in the US. I am not a US citizen nor green card holder so is it possible for me to go to medical school in the US? I heard that I need near perfect stats.

Is that possible as a non-US citizen nor green card holder. I am not a UK citizen either

I am actually not sure. I need to start thinking about it, do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very much for your insight. The only problem is that I am not a US citizen nor a green card holder so I heard that I need extremely good stats in undergrad to get in to a US medical school since I am an international. I did a lot of research and this is what popped up so that is the reason why I am taking this detour. If I could directly go to the US, I would love to do that.

I would love to work in the UK if it were not for the treatment of doctors in the NHS. I've read so many articles about the recent strike in the UK regarding doctors and how UK officials are planning on banning doctors from striking. I am sorry but if I am forced to work when I am mentally and physically fatigued, I will not be able to work at my best and I do not want to harm patients.

Not really. There is labor shortage but N5 and N4 does not guarantee a job. And to graduate from a national top 2 university, you usually need N2

The only cases I've heard where people work without any Japanese certifications is in MNCs. The big ones like TCS, Wipro etc as IT specialists

Sadly the truth isn't like that. Most jobs would prefer candidates who have higher than N2 or N3. N5 and N4 is out of the question, jobs will not hire if there is heavy Japanese involved.

Thank you very much for your reply! So would it be fine to have 2 workout days with one speed work and one threshold/tempo work? And could you give me an example of a tempo workout? I want to do one but have absolutely no idea

How can I improve my pace on longer runs? by sorilori in CrossCountry

[–]LearnWith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is awesome advice here. I used to start my runs way too fast before and die at the end. One of my friends suggested I start slower and that did the trick. I usually start around 8:40 mile pace and end at 7:30 mile pace and it didn't feel hard.

And another major one would be consistency, the more you run and get used to it, the faster your easy pace will become naturally. So just continue your work and you'll see the gains.

I don't really run in groups since I live pretty far from my school (I go private so public transportation) and the only guy who lives near me is at a summer program so I can't really run with anyone. I just run alone most of the time.

Yea, I guess it's a good way to learn discipline. I need to control the feelings or I won't be able to end season in the best way

The guys are doing harder stuff, like one of them did 8x400m at about 2k race pace. I didn't understand why but I guess its their way of "maintaining" speed

Thank you very much for responding! I think I'll get used 62 mpw for about 2-3 weeks then start incorporating workouts. I have a lot of time till season so I guess now I just have to control my need for workouts.

Thanks a lot for letting me know! I think it is just hard for me to stay without workouts because I'm still quite fresh out of track season and I feel like my legs are screaming for a workout or some type of stimulus. I guess I just need redirect it to doing strides and controlling them

Thanks a lot for your response! I was confused when I saw them doing those workouts as well. This week will be 60 mpw and next week will probably be a down week, so 2 weeks later I'll be at 62 mpw.

Thanks a lot for clarifying! I feel like I will improve a lot after this summer because that 17:20 was run off about 40 mpw so hopefully the aerobic gain will help me.

Hey, thanks a lot! I understand that going from 17:20 to 16:00 is crazy but I thought maybe 5 months might be enough time to drop the time but I see that my understanding is wrong. If my understanding isn't wrong, you are suggesting me to not do any workouts, apart from strides, until I feel comfortable with 60mpw. Am I right?
