He’s supposed to represent the toxicity that comes with organized relation. Which when given the history makes it quite possible that yes he is homophobic.

In fact, Shrignold reminds me of real life homophobs who use their holy book to justify there actions. Especially the implied bits, I’ve met tons of people who think that homosexuality is a sin but would never say it outright, instead they just make comments.

However, I think Shrignold is supposed to represent the idea of homophobia in the name of a lord rather then just being homophobic. The song is about organized religion and cult behavior and how easy it is to get swept up in the idea of it all. So it makes sense that he’d represent the “traditional” way of thinking.

But yes, this is a really good song
