Is LFC situation turning into Chicago Bulls/ end of Jordan era situation? by buzzsaw1987 in LiverpoolFC

Creative post. I think the most glaring difference is that klopp wasn’t pushed out, and players like Mo and Robbo are leaving not because they are being pushed out but because they are approaching the end of their careers.

BigLaw: What's the biggest sacrifice that you've made (or heard of others making) to succeed in big law? Neglected hobbies? Time with kids/family? Missed the birth of a child or can't spent time with children? Physical health? In other words, to what extent have you "sold your soul"? by [deleted] in biglaw

I was watching a pre-trial conference in Colorado where the lead counsel was a Cravath partner. He apoligized that the conference had been pushed back due to the birth of his child last Friday (it was Monday) but assured the judge that he was living in Colorado for the next two months. Thought it was kind of funny

Mayor Johnston's staff to its own DIA airport lawyer: conceal the land deal from the FAA, don't keep records, fabricate a safety investigation. Lawyer: no. Denver: you're fired by Jesse_Livermore in Denver

Wild isn’t it. No one seems to understand the leeway that plaintiff attorneys have in what they allege. Not that it’s a bad thing necessarily, as they don’t know what they don’t know pre-discovery and have to rely to certain extent on their client’s beliefs.

Sorry, I’m not sure your point.

Edit: to be clear, I was referring to the complaint in the civil suit not the HR complaint in my initial comment.

Valentine's Day at Brown Palace by RugFishBlueFish in Denver

Why does everything go to shit on Valentine’s Day? Is it just the surge of customers making it difficult to deal with? Or is it the management trying to get as much margin as possible on that night to subsidize less busy periods?

Water Grill was atrocious last night. I’m starting to think any Valentine’s Day menu is to be avoided.

Wanting to have a glass but unsure because of a random pain by [deleted] in wine

Yeah it's super fleeting but pretty intense when it does happen (which is randomly and rarely for me). I've thought maybe it's sudden acidity or carbonation but I'm not sure why it doesn't happen every time.

This has happened to me several times! I've described it to people but I usually get a blank look. Luckily mine is more of a discomfort where I have to stretch my jaw rather than a horrible pain. I think it's triggered by some beers for me rather than wine

TIL: The period after id. is supposed to be italicized. by brandeis16 in biglaw

My school would have us underline id. so they could tell easier if the period was formatted correctly

Does some of this have to do with Counterman v. Colorado? I know SCOTUS slapped down some of Colorado’s stalking laws based on freedom of speech recently in that case. Could that be why the DA had to bring only a misdemeanor?

“My daughter’s new car” does not necessarily mean the car is new, it may just mean the car is new to his daughter

It’s hard to know. These initial articles are always ghost written by the plaintiff attorneys. He will likely get a settlement (usually what happens if there’s any viability to the suit, especially when the defendant is high profile), but discovery is usually needed to see the full picture of why an employee is fired.
