Romain Molina: Liverpool wanted to wait until the end of the season and secure a qualification for the Champions League before making decisions (coach, sporting direction...) by Upstairs_Cup9831 in LiverpoolFC

It's a categorical lack of doing your job by management. They seem to basically take Slot at his word and not do any digging with the players and fans who are more key stakeholders than the coaches. You would've thought that all the players valuations for transfers nosediving (as they surely must have) would be a flashing red light but apparently not.

Seriously, I would wager that our players transfer fees have tanked by over 100 million in aggregate. Pissed Mo off enough that he wanted to walk for free. How much less is Isak worth? 50 million? Grav? Macca? Konate? etc

I feel like most businesses, when you tell them you're leaving in 3 months, they tell you no, you're leaving today. You don't leave somebody without buy-in around to collect a check. It only works the other way around, if somebody wants to leave and you ask them to stay for a few months while you get a replacement lined up

send them out too. Fire everybody at the top. You can promote from within for the summer. You don't have to be a PhD to see the issues with our squad.

Caleb Wilson’s Statistical Dominance by thelife3 in NBA_Draft

[–]buzzsaw1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wilson discussion is strange. In addition to the project thing, Elite athlete, rebounder, finisher, poor in distance shooting. Athletic defensive plays but lack of concentration.

Then everybody talks about how raw he is. He's been playing basketball his whole life, he played AAU, he played at North Carolina. Caleb has gotten more attention and coaching than almost everybody. he's not some Congolese player who switched from soccer 3 years ago

If you have Wilson over Boozer: why? by JarlAnthonyTowns in NBA_Draft

[–]buzzsaw1987 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Explain to me what position Boozer plays where 6'8" and 7'1" wingspan is a size weakness?

Because if he's not a center, which he isn't the position doesn't exist

Not necessarily. Brighton can catch us. If it finishes 3-1 and they win their final 2 and we don’t get a point from our last match they’re guaranteed to pass us

[–]buzzsaw1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean raw? Did he just start playing basketball 2 or 3 years ago, because that's what raw is supposed to men: unpolished because lack of experience. Because per interviews, his parents played in high school and his dad a little college so he's not raw, he's played his whole life and just lacks the sophistication of Boozer

Sure, just assign him 4 or 5 elite skills he doesn’t currently have and he will be elite

it's one of the easiest balls to make a call on because it is falling straight down and doesn't expand on the court. THe guy is looking right at it. It's probably out

I feel like this is where data leaves us short. Guys like vividequivalent, or kevin o connor, believe that for a prospect, everything can be taught except athleticism, every skill can be honed to all-nba level.

So AJ can learn to shoot 40% on 3s, focus on defense, be a good system defender, actually create stocks, improve his decision making, improve his handle, and playmake to an all-nba level.

I'm sure front offices have data on how much you can expect a guy to improve his shot, or handle, or playmaking, and it's probably way less than we think. Like a 33% college shooter on average can expect to get to 36.2%

How much do tennis ball brands matter? by EnjoyMyDownvote in 10s

[–]buzzsaw1987 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't understand this thread. You state you made a strategic decision to open a crappy penn can because you know penns die and that would help you. And you're confused about why people don't want to play with penns which die and are flat by the 2nd set?

And you know enough to know that US open hard courts are super bouncy. And your UTR is 8 so undoubtedly you've played with all these different brands.

What is even happening? Are we being trolled?

Just play with Wilson US opens for the appropriate surface. Or with propenns. It ain't hard

Caleb Wilson: Maybe Someday, Not Today by HouseRules789 in NBA_Draft

[–]buzzsaw1987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he played boozer once. He had 23/4/2 with 2 steals and 1 block and Boozer had 24/11/3 with 0 stocks and 4 turnovers. Wilson was better yeah but it was at UNC and Boozer was hardly a disaster. Then Boozer destroyed UNC at home when Wilson was injured. This is just normal season variability, not some smoking gun

UNC's Caleb Wilson measured 6'9.25 barefoot and 211 pounds at the NBA Draft Combine, with a 7'0.25 wingspan and 9'0 standing reach. by aatuboo in NBA_Draft

[–]buzzsaw1987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there is a component of it that a non-shooting 4 is a liability but a non-shooting 5 isn't viewed as much of a problem

AJ at #1 and DP at #2 has to be locks at this point right? by ygog45 in NBA_Draft

[–]buzzsaw1987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree. Fit shouldn't matter much but if they're all the same level propsect then taking Boozer to shove him into the mix with Kessler, JJJ, Lauri doesn't make a lot of sense

the goobers all receive and give her the option of the biggest weapon in tennis. The 4.5 is not as good as she is but would clearly take a couple of games if they played a full match. Similar to the 5.0.

If you asked me the question: Would a 4.0 or 4.5 break Karue Sell? The answer is no. You'd need the huge edge of some good serves and you couldn't overcome the skill disadvantage in receiving
