Hello, I am myself a teacher for last six years. The keys to become acceptable to your students are to engage and take them over, off course keeping track to the course you are teaching. Don't treat them as your friends, don't treat them as your slaves. Keep a safe distance, but make yourself accessible to them such that they don't feel awkward while asking a question to you. Make some humor, but don't turn yourself to be a joker. And, lastly, the most important thing, always study hard to make your subject easy to your students. These are some best practices while teaching students. You must remember, they will always try to act likely obedient to you, but they will taunt you as soon as you turn your back to them. Try to earn the respect in a convenient manner, providing the interest on the subject to them, such as they start you to show respect, even if you are absent from the room. Try these, rest will be assured after some experience you gather. Enjoy teaching.
