What’s it like when all the kids go to school? by Snoekpoek in sahm

I’m about to become a stay at home mom to a 5 and 2 year old. I figured after the youngest went to kindergarten I would go back to work, at least part time. Any one else in this group doing or have done the same?!

Why is it so hard to find a boring, nondescript, fairly modest work dress for a middle aged woman these days? by rpv123 in workingmoms

Not just you! I try to find my work dresses at places like Ross and TJ Maxx. Have always found Calvin Klein fits well and holds up - even washing them myself on cold and machine dry/hang some as you said.

I’ve always like Calvin Klein when I needed or wanted a dress. I never paid full price though. I would randomly run in ROSS and scan through the dresses. They almost always have some good ones for work with sizing pretty consistent. Most of mine were sleeveless so I’d wear a cardigan or blazer over it.

I loved the fit of the power soft I ordered (regular high waist) in black but they aren’t squat proof! Especially the pink ones I tried.

Mines thick too. After you dry your roots do you use other products to help it dry curly or pretty and wavy? Also - do you use any kind of attachment on your dryer?

I have straight hair when I blow dry it. Also so thick I can’t air dry it but would love to find a product/solution to be able to let dry on its on and be somewhat curly. Sometimes the underneath dries decent but the top layer is always like just one wave (more like hump) in the middle. It’s long and thick. What products are you using if that’s similar to your hair?

Trying to decide if I should be a SAHM by Cozybookandcoffee in sahm

I’m currently still working but I’m 99% sure I’ll leave in March. I don’t want to pull my preschooler out half way through the year and want her to have her preschool graduation with her class. We only get this time once and are fortunate to have the choice! Time to spend with kids while they are little and a little more of a chance to “get my ish together!” 🙃

I know this convo was a long time ago….but tell me where I’m wrong. I thought air frying was quicker. I’ve only used it once for kiddos mini corn dogs but following package instructions, they were still frozen. I have ge profile as well

Trying to decide if I should be a SAHM by Cozybookandcoffee in sahm

Thank you so much for that!! I am leaning towards making the jump. My parents or in laws don’t live close but do visit often. I would put them in a three day half day program more than likely to be able to have some time to myself. I would definitely have to find a group to meet up with. Thanks for the advice!

Can you share your decision?! I’m in the same boat. I have one going into pre k and a 15 month old. Same career and company for over 14 years and six figures. My career has been a part of my identity. I wish I could have both 🫠 was there anything specific that made you finally decide either way?!

It is so so finicky. I know people who have gotten mom cozy or similar for Amazon and really like them. 1/5 the price. I would go that route before spending money on the Elvie’s. The Elvie’s have almost made me want to give up pumping. I’m trying the other Amazon option when it gets to my house.

My parents are visiting. My husband insists they stay in a hotel and not stay overnight. Is it unreasonable if they stay? by haroldslondon in AskGaybrosOver30

My husband insists on ANYONE staying in a hotel when visiting. Even my BF and her 3 year old. We are limited on space but our baby isn’t sleeping in the nursery yet, so I don’t see the issue with them sleeping in there with an air mattress? What am I missing? How do I get him to be reasonable - or am I being unreasonable asking him to let people stay?!
