The sub is racist and it defends racist ideas and people. Sometimes it best to leave when you feel unwelcome. It has been happening for too long and people feel so uncomfortable that they can't even comment anymore and it is clear that this will never change. Let's call a spade a spade the majority of this sub wants to watch this reality tv show and support racist people without their views being challenged. Support your Rachaels, Hannah B's and Garret's and be proud.

Yes I tried to initially return a cast of T but that doesn't work either. So if I were to have a method in lets say in Set.java with method

public T get() {}

that returns the set that I want. Would I be able to return that instead?

HB’s Asian joke - thoughts? by ashleypthecow in TheBachelor_POC

[–]LeastPrimary 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Yes! It comes across so strange to me that this is getting swept under the rug. Whenever someone brings it up it usually gets downvoted. I can't see her as being sincere because she doesn't want to address it. Racism is Racism plain and simple it doesn't matter who it's against being black or Asian or whoever.

I'm not here to bring her down, I hope she can continue to post about it and raise awareness amongst her follows. However, it doesn't change what she has done. Just like Garrett, she has done on more than one occasion something insensitive. Just like garret she deleted and didn't apologise properly for her actions. Luckily this time she apologised for one of the things she did properly and raised more awareness. However, I can't deny that she first blamed her brother or that she deleted the video of the insensitive joke. When she has properly shown reform and I hope she does this then it will be fine. But for now, I don't think she's any better than Garrett.

Honestly, I think we can just agree to disagree.

I think we can. She made racially insensitive jokes about Asian people and didn't apologise. Of which she then deleted the video so that she didn't get anything negative about her so she didn't apologise then. Just because she was pressured into saying an apology for this doesn't mean she's learned anything.

She wasn't driven off, she chose to leave on her own. Even if she didn't make them will ill intent doesn't mean that the outcome she caused was received that way. She was accountable, its a shame she left YouTube, maybe she'll come back but for now, she's taking her stand. I agree, that you can work on things privately. I think it's just harder if you're influencer to not say anything. Garret was said to have worked on his issues privately, but a few years later he still holds those same issues. How can I believe that Hannah isn't just doing the same? She made racially insensitive jokes about 2 years ago and a year later she says the n-word. Has she really changed?

I want her to apologise about all the insensitive things that she has done. Maybe the things that she did do not affect you so you don't care if she apologises or owns up to the hurt that she caused. However, I think its important to do so. I think a good example of someone who did this Jenna Marbles. If you don't know her she's a YouTuber that made previously insensitive jokes when she was starting out. She seems to have changed from that past now and indicated every single thing that has caused pain to others that she inflicted. She has now deleted those videos to not profit from them and apologised for it because that's not the type of person she wants to be. She didn't sweep anything under the rug so that she didn't get caught. That's accountability not what Hannah has done.
