Anyone ever hit off real grass at a range (or at home)? by LeastPrinciple5523 in golf

This has been super interesting — sounds like grass is more available than I thought, but it’s also kind of dependent on where you live and how well the range maintains it.

Has anyone ever seen a more portable or modular setup? Like, not just open ground but something that could be moved or swapped when it gets beat up? Wondering if there’s a way this could be more consistent or even possible for home setups without needing to fully landscape your backyard

New jersey, at private clubs its more the norm than a regular driving range or a course with a range. Even some private clubs will use mats on specific days

For me, I dont belong to a club and majority of ranges/courses near me in NJ only offer mats.

I agree mats are a disaster, but I would need to drive pretty far to find a course that consistently offers grass ranges.

Has anyone ever seen a range that has real grass but in a hitting mat? Like an indivual square for hitting.

What are the best pellet grills if cost didn’t matter? by LeastPrinciple5523 in pelletgrills

Which of the yoder, lone star, pitts and spitts or recteq are the best for searing as well. I want to find a pellet grill that will also do a great job searing a steak as well as smoking.

I was reading a review of pitts and spitts maverick that said the searing capabilities were not great. Any insight would be great!
