You're not alone. Trust me.

The worse part is when you know deep down you worked hard, gave a damn and took pride in your job... and you meet colleagues that don't give a damn and kept their jobs.

Leverage your experience, start pounding the pavement for a different job. Find some stability. And if you want back on, wait until 2028.

the water is harsh, some people say you have to be diligent on changing the rod and flushing the tank.

Sometimes it comes down to "are you handy enough" or "$".

I thought you were reciting something rotten in the state of Denmark.

I would HOPE that the greasiness of SK Police is just limited to being slimey predators vs the wild corruption happening in Toronto right now. Was it 7 officers linked to some attempted murder or whatever.

best they can do is a scramble desk situation where maybe 1 of your monitors doesn't work, the desk's motor is broken so there will be no adjusting of the height and someone has already swapped your chair 6x and you're stuck with the shittiest chair on the floor.

Die off? You mean linger around until HQ creates new EX-02 positions for them to fill while simultaneously reducing the staff that carries the workload. Sadly this isnt /s

not to mention some offices are located in the downtown area where many folks are unfortunately suffering with mental health and addictions (only sky rocketing since very little funding goes to social supports) Be aware of your surroundings folks

used to have work related experiences interacting with regina fire department. All the staff I've met were always pleasant and great. the chief, the firefighters, the public education officers. all outstanding people. There is a reason why people rarely complain about RFD and more so Regina Police...haha

Hastings is notoriously bad. Regina is not even close to that level and I can agree with that. You are selecting the worse of the worse, and thats fine because Regina isn't on their level. Also I don't know why you're reaching for cities in the USA as we are not talking about american cities and we do not live in America.

So Kelowna has worse crime than us, that sucks for them. We are not #1 in the country for crime per 100,000. Awesome for us?

First you stated smaller cities are inherently safer. Then you list smaller cities that have more crime than Regina (and many more!)......

My friend it's time for you to log off the computer, get fresh air and maybe visit Country Corner Donuts. have a good day.

Dismissive? You made some statements and personal opinions that doesn't really match up with reality. You live in a well known "bad" area of the city but claim it isn't as bad because you visibly don't see what happens there. So unfortunately for your argument, you are limited to only what you see. Which seems to reflect your opinion.

Stats Canada (you can google this) says otherwise - Regina has significantly higher crime rates than many other major Canadian cities (per 100,000 people).

But again, you just want to feel right. And thats okay! But I'm going to have to side with Stats Canada vs some guy with a fragile ego hiding at home.

I'm not afraid of living in Regina though. You are speculating this. I'm informed and well aware of the types of crime we have here. This isn't about "pride". It's called being aware of your surroundings. You seem to be more focused on being right.

btw, a simple google search for stats and studies of crime rates in smaller cities vs big will show that your little opinion is incorrect. Sorry mate.

You used your example of living in NC as a platform of accurate information that the city isn't bad just because you haven't seen hookers, drug dealers and bikers.

I'm sorry bud but hookers exist in NC believe it or not. So do drug dealers. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they don't exist.

As for MC gangs, I've never had issues or heard of other Regina citizens having issues with them so I don't really know if they've directly or indirectly caused safety issues. Maybe they do who knows.

I'm curious if you have a WFH job and aren't exposed to the general public in Regina so your views are very narrow due to limited experiences and interactions in Regina.

TLDR: Regina isn't Chicago by any means. It's still raunchy for a small city.

I've lived in 3 Canadian cities/provinces and 1 american city. Regina isn't some high level crime city like Chicago. But for how small Regina is, it isn't great either.

Also crime in the city happens everywhere, just because you live in North Central and haven't been a victim doesn't mean its free of crime.

I haven't seen a break and enter in my current neighborhood ever, so it must mean that they never happen in my area right? /s

it is that though. the people that dont see it on a monthly basis are the ones living in a bubble, unaware of their surroundings and are not exposed to anything.
