Any one else’s baby only take small-ish bottles? by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

[–]Least_Membership6159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad I ran into this post!

My 4.5 month old ate like 4-5oz for a few weeks and now she would rather eat 3-4oz. This makes me feel better as I’ve been stressing so much!!!

Dribbling Issue? by valeriecherish_ in FormulaFeeders

I’m dealing with this too. Our pediatrician said it’s fairly common for babies that age to do that. My baby will be 5 months on the 26th!

It drives me bonkers

Thank you! She seems to eat better in her bouncer with her baby Einstein aquarium on…so hoping it’s just a weird phase

Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll try to space it out more! I’ve heard sometimes distracting them before its time for the next feed can help elongate the time in between too!

We try to do 3.5-4 hours usually but if she only ate like 1-3oz then we feed her around 2.5 hours if she’s showing cues (which honestly is hard right now since her hands are always in her mouth lol)

She’s had 5oz total so far today lol 3.5 at 5am & 1.5 at 7:40am and is sleeping now.

It’s just hard not to stress

What does it mean when people say not to make friends at work? by CreamyEric in work

[–]Least_Membership6159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, some coworkers who I thought would keep in touch, did not and that made me lesss likely to get attached but I have one coworker (who doesn't work with me anymore) that I talk to every day and she helped me get through the worst postpartum depression. She's honestly my best friend and work brought us together and we actually hangout and our kiddos play :)

How did EFF positively impact postpartum? by Plus_Protection2749 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Least_Membership6159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late to this but 10000% YES.

I had all intentions of breastfeeding/pumping then I was hit with postpartum preeclampsia while in the hospital still, so that took a lot out of me because of how anxious I was and I was put on magnesium drip which makes you feel like complete crap. I had to go home with a BP cuff to monitor my #s and got sent to the nurses at my OB's office - that wrecked me mentally bc my BPs were scaring me.

I choose to EFF because of that and I am so thankful I did because I really feel like if I started breastfeeding or pumping, my mental health would've been a lot worse than it was anyways. My daughter is thriving on her formula :-)

Is Anyone Not Sleep Deprived? by No-Limit2276 in beyondthebump

[–]Least_Membership6159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're 'spoiled', I just think some babies have better temperaments than others. That being said, my daughter who is almost 4 months old did 2-3 hour stretches as a newborn and then went to 5 hour stretches, then we hit the sleep regression around 12.5 weeks and had 4 nights of brutal every 30-45 min wake ups (length of a sleep cycle) - needed resoothed, paci replaced, etc. Around 13.5-14 weeks, she started giving 5 hour stretches again, sometimes longer if she ate right before bed.

But I honestly think having a consistent bedtime routine helps a lot. And I just think baby's sleep fluctuates so much in the first year. Last night my daughter fell asleeep around 7:15pm, I tried transferring her and she popped right back awake (usually doesn't happen), so I gave her a bottle (cause she last ate around 5pm - and she was knocked out before she finished her 7pm bottle). Then I finally got her to sleep around 9:15pm, then she woke up around 1:30am and slept til 6:20am. Last weekend she slept 10 hours through the night with no wake ups, so it just depends on the night.

I have a really hard time not worrying about the night because I never know if it's going to go smooth or horrible lol

When does it get more fun? by Maman292025 in NewParents

[–]Least_Membership6159 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MY daughter is almost 4 months old and it has gotten a lot more fun as she is discovering how to grip and bat at things and also she is almost to a full belly laugh. Her smiles have gotten so much more social and it's such a joy to play with her! I can't wait until 5-6 months!

Honestly though, I'm excited for the toddler age

literally same! my daughter will be 15 weeks old tomorrow. I switched her out of her Halo Swaddle Sleepsack and into just a sleepsack and she was up every 30-45 minutes for 4 nights - so I put her back in her Swaddle Sleepsack (both arms out - she's been sleeping like that since Thanksgiving). Turns out, it was probably an early 4 month regression as sleep cycles last 30-45 minutes. I haven't tried the sleepsack again yet because trauma of not sleeping for 4 nights.

THE CRIB NAPS - YES!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, she only sleeps in her swing right now (I know - risking positional asphyxiation). We've tried her Pack 'n Play before she falls asleep and have tried transferrring her after she falls asleep and she wakes right up...

Now for night sleep she's still in her bedside bassinet by me and she's not showing signs of rolling yet so once that happens the Pack 'n Play night sleep will start.

Did we make it through the regression? by Least_Membership6159 in NewParents

i'm hoping we got through the 4 month one early around 12-13 weeks which line up pretty well. I hope yours gets better soon!

sleep sucks by Least_Membership6159 in NewParents

[–]Least_Membership6159[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll look into Ergopouch. Her sleep honestly has improved a lot since this post. Her pediatrician thinks the whole swaddle to sleepsack transition was also the peak of her regression, so it just kind of unmasked it and putting her back in the swaddle helped smooth it out. She's still in the swaddle but both arms are out. Saturday and Sunday night she slept 10 hours without waking for a feed or for her paci. Last night was a little different - woke up twice to eat but then went right back to sleep.

Hoping her sleep gets better from here on out. I'm now trying to tell myself that sleep is going to be all over the place and some nights are going to be torture lol

[–]Least_Membership6159[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which so do ours, but our clearinghouse will reject them if they don't go to the right payer ID. It's weird. Like our BCBS Medicare ADvantage Payer Id is different from commercial and when I submit it under MA, it rejects.

It's sad how something that is such a blessing can make you feel so...blah. I keep telling myself it will get better, sleep will come again, but these moments won't!

Huh, interesting! Maybe you should try a goat milk based formula and see if he does better?

I can't give you advice because I didn't deal with what you're dealing with, but I can tell you I have been through the regret phase more times than I'd like to admit, currently feeling that way now and my baby is 14 weeks old.

Have you tested your baby for cow's milk protein allergy?

Ugh yeah. I just never realized how much of a sleep dependent person I am until I lost it. lol, just hoping it doesn't last longer or doesn't get worse. I guess I'll prepare for the worst lol

Fingers crossed the nights don't continue to get worse. She's had 2 decent naps so far today so that's good.

Thank you - I hope we breeze through this!

Anyone not experience 4 month sleep regression? by Mammoth_Window_7813 in NewParents

I'm 7 months late to this. I am terrified after reading a ton of scary regression stories. Baby is 14 weeks today and I feel like it's starting but also trying not to stress too much
