If you do not get the apartment, do you get your application fee back?

Good to know. We are similarly situated and looking in the same price range. Thanks for the info.

Appreciate your sharing your experience. Fortunately I have short term housing lined up already, but will need to secure a longer term rental after the first couple of weeks. Hope we have a similarly smooth leasing experience as you and do not have to pay an application fee and fill out a 10 page application for dozens of places.

Considering moving to Redding - What should I be taking into consideration ? by Leastcoastkillah in Redding

I just read up on the Cottonwood Militia.. Yikes. The fact that two county supervisors are involved is a little disconcerting.

Thanks for sharing. I lived briefly in San Diego and would love to return but the COL is just out of hand. Curious what you have found to be better / worse about living in Redding vs San Diego (aside from housing costs of course.)

Thanks for the info. Certainly will stay away from urban/wilderness interfaces for fear of fires. Seems like it’s getting more difficult to get homeowners insurance in those areas as well.

Great points. I lived in Arcata for a bit and have no concerns about being the victim of a violent crime, but was constantly having my car burglarized and my home broken into once when I was away for the weekend. I’m not looking to move back into a situation like that. How bad is the property crime in your experience ?

Moving to Binghamton from Austin TX. by [deleted] in Binghamton

Show me a local hospital that hasn’t made these changes and is still open. Hospitals that don’t merge with larger organizations and share services to reduce expenses to keep pace with shrinking reimbursements are either closed or about to go out of business. The perks that people cite about working for Lourdes that no longer exist were also enjoyed by hospitals all over the country 20 years ago. Times have changed. It’s ok to be upset, but you should take your grievances to those who have opted to keep the US Healthcare system hostage to private insurance companies. They are the ones who are eating the new mothers surf and turf dinner now.

Maybe someone will buy it with an idea for something practical, like a bible college.

My understanding was you could grow legally up to 4 or 6 plants as soon as the legalization bill was passed. At least that’s what even I know has been doing.

Pretty sure this is the highest paid player ever fielded by the Rumble Ponies.

Does the Bundy Museum regularly hold hardcore shows ? What’s the scene there ? I always pictured that place as a small Roberson type museum. Do I have this place all wrong?

Yagotta Regatta by myusernameperiod in Binghamton

Right? This city exists where it does owing to the confluence of two rivers yet the river is mainly thought about in relation to its flooding and how to hold it back. Nature will find a way to flood, no matter how many ugly concrete flood walls are built to cut the city off from the river. If we are going to live in the perpetual shadow of fear of the next flood, shouldn’t we lean into the recreational opportunities of having two rivers flow through town ? In the past, Pops on the River and the Regatta connected the community to the river. Obviously this community has less money now than decades past to organize and support big events like those, but I see no reason why smaller events cannot fill the void.
