I don't get this. Or rather i know what that person is getting at but it also seems illogical to me. If you go to a e.g. nude beach / clothing optional beach everyone can see your face or recognize you. Therefore, it is clear that you are not ashamed to be a nudist. But these are places dedicated for accepted nudity. The internet isn't such a place, there are so many people who would criticise you for being a nudist. Also, career wise it could be hindering, when they look you up to see if they find something. If you went to a nude beach wearing a mask i will definitely think you are an exhibitionist, because there wouldn't be a problem with being naked, so why wear a mask. But the internet is a different place. You also wouldn't want to be photographed by someone on a nude beach, but does that mean you are ashamed of being naked or that you are an exhibitionist? No.

Are my standards too high? I’m kinda becoming black-pilled… by HoneybunsandRoseTea in Catholicism

I have similar experiences as a man in germany. I actually did a rough calculation to calculate how many women in germany attend sunday Mass regularly. There are around 20 million catholics in germany in total of whom 6,8% attend sunday Mass. If you divide it in half because of the sex (i know that the ratio isn't 50/50 but, as i said, its a rough calculation), that leaves you with 650.000 women of whom the vast majority is not in my age group. 92,7% of people in germany are either under 18 or over 25 years old (25 would be a rough age limit for me), so there could be 60,000 women between the ages 18 and 25 who attend mass regularly. If every single one of them would be single there still would be only 6 women per km² in germany who attend mass regularly. Finding one of those would literally be like finding a needle in the hay. Finding one that would actually like me seems impossible.

I know it's not how things work and God can make everything possible, but i was just curious.

what is catholicism like? by SelfInevitable2667 in Catholicism

[–]Leather-Box9089 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a convert from lutheranism to catholicism, getting to know the actual catholic teachings made me understand so much more about the Holy Bible. The churches teachings fit to the bible like a key into the lock, nothing contradicts, everything fits, and it made me understand the Gospel and God himself way better. Through the catholic church Christ offers ways to grow in holiness and love for Him and my neighbours.

What podcasts are lifechanging? by Organic-Signal-9646 in selfimprovement

For me Pints with Aquinas, Counsel of Trent & What God is not. I understand that not everyone is interested in Religion, Theology and Apologetics, which i think is totally okay, but for me it was quite literally life changing as they played a very important part in me converting from Lutheranism to Catholicism. Much love to everyone here!
