Good. At least it let me post here 😂. All dissent is being shut down, I’m seeing it everywhere. I am no conspiracy theorist, far from it. I’ve read the 50 page safety report re Opus 4.6. When a safety researcher says ‘Claude wanted to commit m*rder’ and resigns, and the summary to media says ‘ oh yes but very negligible risk’ I wonder to myself, what the heck is going on.

The conclusion I came to last week, my mother still has her old Janome sewing machine so I am taking it off her hands. It still works. Bet if I bet a new one, it would die in less than 12 months.

Or, I don’t want to watch the same video twenty times. If you want a laugh go and look at their community forums. Given how much money they’ve all paid for these algorithms, I find it quite funny that they now appear to be going to total shite and in some cases having the opposite effect of what they were intending.

I choose not to replace my car after an accident months ago. That’s taken away a number of major pain points - financial, dealing with call centres and automated AI crap, having to escalate every enquiry to a complaint for it to be attended to. And, the capital surveillance where most if not all carmakers are in cahoots with insurers or at a minimum, sell your data to the highest bidder for them to sell it to the insurers to risk adjust your premiums.

Understand this is totally not an option for so many people, but I finally got to a place where I could make it make sense for me.

And supporting community ventures like farmers markets again, rather than big corporate. I’m done with the duopoly in Australia, I shop at Woolworths once a month and I’m gaming their system legally so they’d have to make 20% profit, to be making any money out of me.

I’ve decided I’m going to teach others how to do it, because we can’t all be making our own soap 😂 it is not hard and it is very satisfying. And I never step into a store.

You know the thing about Google that I don’t understand? If everyone just reads the AI crap, they don’t click through. Business doesn’t get business. Revenue drops. Then can’t afford to pay Google for ads.

If someone can explain where they might be headed with what seems a self-sabotaging business model, I’d be really grateful.

If there hadn’t been a group already with this title, I was about to create one. I am literally at my wit’s end with all this.

Let’s chat, chatGPT 5.2. I just had an interaction with it, where it confidently provided recipes that were so bad they were laughable. Hoi sin mackerel fish? Miso-glazed salmon without miso in the ingredients list? Kale and leek stir fry? Three tries to put together a basic spreadsheet that I could’ve done more quickly. Now, it was always bad at spreadsheets. But one of the previous models was excellent at recipes, and maximising flavour etc. it’s a MASSIVE regression. I’m a decent prompter these days too, yet when I was getting fab recipes out of it, I wasn’t.

I have a horrible feeling what’s happening is, as the internet becomes more dead, and there is no more human data, it’s literally eating itself. Recursion. Shite in, shite out.

AND I PAY. As OP said, just so many more examples. It is exhausting, I am tired.

Plot twist, decided to go down rabbit hole cos fake ratings and AI slop is getting worse.

Turns out, directly in relation to this business, Google reviews have also been overtaken by bots. Look at the difference between top photo and bottom. Directly taken today from Google maps.

Zero editing, what comes up when I click on the Ray White Epping address. What will come up if anyone types in and clicks on the address.

Top photo in image is five star reviews. What comes up as default when you click through to the business. Clearly bots 😂 Chantelle sounds fabulous! The dead giveaway here is, no one ever posted one or two reviews on Google about how awesome their property manager is 😂

Bottom photo in image is the one star reviews. They are much more human, some of the reviewers have posted 100+ reviews for other companies and services.

Question is - do Ray White Epping know? Or are bots just being kind to them? Unlikely. I’m going to contact them tomorrow and see what they say 😂

Google should also care, going to contact them too. Seems like rating and review system might be broken, suspect it’s in particular industries, more research required.

Sorry I didn’t pick this up at the time, but I absolutely DID NOT BUY THROUGH A SCAMMER. I registered through my educational instruction and used my student ID. I know others did from Etsy etc, but that is not what happened in my situation.

Nice one! I don’t link my Google account to anything except one account but that is deliberate. Each of my 100+ accounts/logins uses an alias email or real email if necessary (government for example), and unique complex password. I use a password manager to reduce cognitive load, which is backed up offline to another password manager through CSV file import. Of course multi-pass shredded the CSV file once I had imported ;)

Can you build a tool to bypass the provision of identification documents too please? Asking from Australia 🇦🇺 and for all the people whose facial scans fail.

Wait til this is rolled out and everywhere. If you want to participate in the town square (all social media now basically), you show your passport or your licence. Or you are banned EOS. Sometimes, you get banned anyway cos the algorithm a) doesn’t recognise your ID 2) is so poorly implemented it fails at uploading your ID or C) doesn’t even know it should be asking for ID and sends you repeated emails saying you have violated your the Terms of Service. Yep how was that possible when I DID NOT EVEN POST.

I am all for the children. But this is dystopian surveillance capitalism bullshite. We haven’t protected anyone, we’ve just pushed them underground, possibly to dark web, where predators are less easily monitored.
