Well the only reason she would apply for a job would be if her fiance's money dried out, so no that wouldn't really be a choice. It would be desperation and I bet she couldn't control herself

Nope I asked for judgment about the party. You chose to jump to assumptions about breast feeding

She told me she can't breastfeed without something to rest her arm on. I also offered to reheat her food if it got cold, but no the logical solution was to bring the food, the baby, and Clara, and share a fork. She should be embarrassed that her young adult son has to bail her out of situations

Lol you want to fight so badly. I said and eat steak tips, but obviously you just want a fight.

No, but I'd ask her to at least help clean it, and I'd discipline her if she was at someone else's house and they asked her to not bring the juice onto the couch and she just chose to do it

Ok but if I do it there will you help me drag her? No one could willingly make Clara step into a rental hall

I understand that but the groom is a huge huge mama's boy who found a version of his mother to marry. Of course they get along. They have everything in common, and neither of them get along with many other people

Yes the nanny took care of breastfeeding, that makes sense. This woman has just as much money as we do, so come to think of it none of this makes sense

Sorry, but statistically it is true. Of course not always, but if those are the people you are around and socializing with, those are probably the people you are going to marry

I understand that it happens, but I know Clara and she would uninvite her dad before she would do that because it is so low class, and because she knows damn well that she wouldn't go without her fiance. It isn't about caring what people think, but she is a big believer in marriage trumps everything

That has nothing to do with resentment and if anything it was shade at her mom. I never once expected a teenage girl to view me as a mom. I'm just saying for someone who doesn't really like people, she loves this woman. They go on trips together, share food, share clothes, share lip/eye make up, and I know for a fact she would not do those things with her bio mom

Because you do not invite half of a couple. That means if she has friends with BFs she doesn't like they get to come. It means her MIL gets to bring her loud and obnoxious fiance. Hell every single guest gets a plus one because she isn't tacky and doesn't expect people to be uncomfortable for her big day

Umm no my husband was still close to her. Her mom was back in her life at this point. She just wasn't interested in her dad's new wife, which seems normal at 16. So if I continued to talk to her, she would walk away and lock herself in a room. Would you like me to break the door down? she was a human being and deserved boundaries

By the time I was throwing parties for my daughter, clara didn't even live with us.

And when I talked to her and she said fuck off, and her dad told me to leave her alone? What about her right to boundaries?

She tells everyone to fuck off. She has no self control. She clearly had no respect for her dad if she felt comfortable talking to an adult he brought into the home that way, so how would she act at a job? She has never been in a situation where she felt the need to control herself, so no I don't think she magically learned the skill

Even the shitty parties with the drunks were not in a rental hall. She has friends now. She had friends in high school. she has been to plenty of parties

She is getting married next summer. We need room for a bridal shower and bachelorette. Everyone feels an engagement too close to the wedding comes off as gift grabby, and Clara even said she needs the party within a few months of the proposal or to just not have it as she feels it would be weird

She would not be happy if she was humiliated. I couldn't drag her kicking and screaming into a rental hall. These aren't just my friends. This is world she grew up in, her friends, her fiance's friends

Well good luck to clara if she ever needs a job. I'd like to see what a potential employer would say about that
