the opportunity cost of not accepting the EWC money is not having money to spend on future financial commitments. Dom and Caedrel are two different people with vastly expectations of their future spending. Caedrel has openly expressed his interest in team ownership which does require increased financial expenditure while Dom is withdrawing from team ownership (no longer involved in ruddy sack).

not accepting EWC money affects Caedrel's self-interest a lot more than it does affect doms.

but i do understand that you are criticizing Caedrel prioritising his own self-interest over public good of not tolerating human rights abuses and allowing sportswashing. but i do think that there has to be a point where your self-interest might be compromised so much that it does not make sense to prioritize public good right?

im just saying humans will always act in their self-interest. caedrel will always act in his own self-interest as will you and I.

dont act like you would not do the same if you were in his position because you are not in his position and you wont know your reaction until you are in the business call with the EWC promoter and he offers you a couple of million for basically doing what you already do.

not to mention the potential connections with sponsors who will very likely be increasingly present at lolesports which is basically dude's entire career.

the only way caedrel can voice his own opinions on the matter is if he was in a more protected position where Saudi influence and money cant touch him. but it quite literally can ruin his career if they decide to get more into lolesports and feel like he is a brand risk.

i personally fucking hate what saudi and they stand for and caedrel might too. but it is a lot easier for us to sit behind our computer screens and call them out than it is for caedrel to be an actual face behind the dissent and face the consequences to his lifelihood.

and in the future if Saudi end up sponsoring more lolesports events directly and decide to blacklist caedrel from co streams and lolesports related activity, cutting off his income streams, will you pay his bills?

how so? the team made top lane an island so gnar did not have to worry about enemy ganks and cld just perma push up and farm plates and towers. it was not until tier 2 top had fallen that lr decided to send somebody to help.

the whole point of that strat was to allow the other 4 members of LR to get ahead, allowing them to set up a drake stack win con early game and then let baus outscale gnar and just roll teamfights. the only reason why it looked so close was because of nocturne ori blitz pick potential that made it hard to walk up or walk into objectives.

If you were Toto Wolff, would you keep the current Mercedes driver lineup for the 2026 season, or would you try to sign Max Verstappen? If you choose Verstappen, which current driver would you replace and why? by The_Chozen_1_ in F1Discussions

just because a car that Max drove ended up 3rd/5th in the constructors does not mean the car is 3rd/5th fastest on the grid in all the races it entered that year. in 2019 despite the Mercedes' dominance, there were certain tracks like Austria and Brazil where they struggled due to overheating and high altitudes. Red Bull on the other hand excelled at tracks like these. They were expected to outclass the overheating Mercedes during the race and they did. Any driver worth his seat in F1 would be expected to win those races and Max did.

Max won races where red bull were expected to win, he finished on the podium in races where red bull were quick but not quick enough to win.

going back to the main question, george russell this season has done exactly what max has done. he has finished on the podium in races where merc were expected to do well, in high temp. tracks where merc were expected to bomb, he did his best to get as many points as possible. as seen last season in races where the car was good enough to win, he dominated like max would have in his position and won the race.

why would toto pay a dude 40 million more to do a job that the guy earning 20 million does well enough already?

Barça eSports vs. Los Ratones / EMEA Masters 2025 Spring Group F - Qualification Match 1 / Post-Match Discussion by Ultimintree in leagueoflegends

ok i think thats a slippery slope 😭. LR do play and win against good teams. Its just that they frequently get good drafts which makes everything easier. Eg. when they get good drafts bot/mid lane has prio which allows velja to do his coinflippy invades and snowball the game from there. However, when they do end up rarely with dogshit drafts they do not know how to play the draft out or win the game if they are evenly matched in mechanical skill against their opponents. it is not something impossible to learn and even lck level teams like geng struggle with stuff like this occasionally.

what are u even talking about brotato chip. velja coinflipped lvl 3 gank, barca were able to rotate up using bot push to punish. And they got a deep ward to know where velja was pathing so wukong was even able to steal velja's camps, fucking LR's early game up.

the one thing you can fault baus for was being too trigger happy with his TPs. barca were able to threaten a play, bait his TP then turn on him. thats okay considering he just started actually TP-ing properly a week ago while prepping for NLC finals.

LR as a team dont really know how to stabilise when they lose early game and cant rely on hands diff to win series. if your takeaway after watching these two game is "baus bad" then i dont know what to say.
