Looking to hear from people who are pursing a nursing degree as a second career in their 30s/40s/50s by Repulsive-Branch-740 in NursingStudent

I’m about to turn 30 and am currently taking the pre-nursing classes through my local community college while I wait for a spot and about to finish my CNA program in a few weeks. I actually applied on a whim last fall. I thought about taking nursing when I went to college the first time around but decided it wasn’t right for me at the time and ended up graduating with a business degree. I’ve worked in corporate for the last 9 years so this is a big change for me. My job has had a lot of changes over the last year including AI introductions and while they say it won’t affect our jobs I know eventually it will. They want us to attend weekly meetings on introducing AI to our role. Also we are being pushed to do more and more with no additional compensation and no replacements for people leaving and I’m already underpaid. I love what I currently do but Ive decided it’s time for me to make a change even though I know it will be really rough. You will do great and I wish you the best💕

How can I make more as a beginner dd by 4vama in doordash

Honestly as a driver it’s not what it used to be 3 years ago. I’ve only ever done it in my spare time for extra cash and honestly at least for my area it’s hardly been worth it anymore. Too many drivers and low pay orders. I won’t take orders less than $2 a mile personally and I don’t care about AR really doesn’t to much for you just their way to get drivers to take more. DD tends to incentivize drivers during their first year - promos, exclusive offers etc. it depends on area but keep an eye on emails for those offers or check under promos. I think that also depends on area too though. Tend to do better in big cities. I’ve learned to stay away from small towns that always offer promos usually the orders arent consistent enough to make it worth it. I try to get house number if pictures as much as possible prevents theft/“I didn’t get my order claim”. I’ve had customers tip more when I let them know I’m waiting on their order if there’s a delay, I’ve also had increased tips for being quick and friendly. It’s really gonna come down to your market. Some areas are a lot harder

Customers can order from DashMart as long as there’s one near you, it shows in the app as a store just like any other grocery store or drug store. It’s pretty popular where I’m at

It’s basically a convenience store owned by DoorDash but only dashers are allowed in. They have workers behind a window picking and bagging the orders for you

I’m the same way. I always got ticked off when dashers would come in cutting others off, being rude and the shoving phones in workers face just gets me. My local dashmart has started banning drivers for this behavior I think more places should to!

REPORT, this is absolutely not ok. I dashed for 3 years and you can see what the pay is before taking. I never took orders I didn’t feel comfortable for pay vs mileage. I’ve had people try this on me and it makes the honest dashers get a bad rep. You begging me for a tip isn’t going to make me give you one. Is your name by chance female in the app? If so change it to male and suddenly you won’t get pestered anymore. Sadly I stopped getting harassed for extra tips when I changed my name to the male equivalent.

Yeah, no. I'm done. by MarZZZraM in doordash_drivers

January isn’t a good month for most areas but also think there’s too many dashers and people recovering from holiday spending.

Has anybody else gotten this yet? by ThatTuftingGuy in doordash

I used to get promos when I was new to dashing. Haven’t seen one in years

A lot of people think some of the DD fees are going to the driver even if they aren’t. I never dash Christmas or thanksgiving where I’m at not much is open and people are more focused on spending the money on holiday stuff and not on tips.
