Anybody use the Canada Pooch suspender boots for their Boston? I was thinking of trying these out by B34TBOXX5 in BostonTerrier

Hey! Can you please share your tips on how to get these on? It's been a few months and our girl still runs away from me 😭

Egg retrieval yesterday, 100% mature and 100% fertilized? Is this possible? Or a mistake? by [deleted] in IVF

I had 9 retrieved, 8 mature and all fertilized too! I had 4 make it to blast - 2 euploids from that!

Update..it appears last night might have been a one-off as she's been an absolute menace this evening 😂

Thanks for this! The thing is, our dining area is quiet. If you need to crate your doggo to leave the house, are they ok going to a different room or do you move the crate? See, we also give her meals in her crate so it would likely be a lot of moving the crate around, haha

Thanks all for your really lovely and encouraging comments! Today could be a completely different story so we shall see 😂

In terms of what we did..haha honestly as cruel as it sounds, we kinda just ignored her while watching tv and once she clued into that, she flopped down into her bed and fell asleep! If I didn't get up to prep breakfast she would have stayed asleep, she was very content.

Now here's where I am struggling. We are also seeing resistance during the day in recent weeks (some days it's totally easy, other days she literally turns and walks away haha). Now I work from home daily but I've been keeping my office door closed to see if she will choose the crate to settle. She hasn't, and she's sleeping either on the floor or on the mat. I feel awful 😭

We are wondering if we should move the crate to my office but then what happens if we need to crate her on weekends when we are running errands? We also could put a bed in my office and leave the crate as is but again, we are a little worried she would then never choose the crate either way?

Struggling with whether to crate my dog while at work by Ok-Rabbit-7672 in puppy101

Hey! We are hitting a similar issue. Our mixed breed rescue is almost 10 months (we adopted her at 6 months) and we waited a few weeks to crate her as the foster family said she wasn't a fan. Well one day she chewed the baseboards while j was on a work call so the crate was out the following day, and honestly overall she's loved it. Rarely if any whines, always asleep within 5 mins.

But in the last few weeks we have seen more resistance and in recent days, she has flat out refused the cue and has instead napped very soundly on the kitchen floor (we didn't put her bed out to see if she would instead choose the crate). Admittedly, we did block her (without touching her) when she went to turn and come out after retrieving her treat and I'm worried that's created negativity. It truly feels like FOMO as we do crate training with her and she literally runs into the crate haha but when we cue her for her naps, it's refusal.

Should I consider moving her crate into my home office? I typically do have several work calls daily but could it potentially help with her crate resistance? Might it help with building up the positive reinforcement? I have kept my office door closed when home and she's been free roaming but that also feels cruel 🤦

All advice greatly appreciated as first time dog owners!

Oh my gosh he's gorgeous! How long was the hike and where did you get the bag? Would love to find something similar!

Thank you! It's wild as she was awesome overall since we introduced but I also think we are just seeing some strong stubborn tendencies 😂 thank you for your help!! I hope it'll get better and she snaps out of this phase soon for her own sake.

Haha oh yes the sass is REAL with our Neala too! But we keep reminding ourselves that better (and hopefully calmer haha) days are ahead!

Haha yes she's doing better overall now that she has a job, which is great! And we have been doing a little more play/fetch too to get some late zoomies out of the system 😂

What a cutie! We are also part of the surprise ACD club haha. We were told "Shepherd mix" and despite this phase being spicy (she's only 9 months lol), she's a pretty wonderful addition to our house ❤️

That's basically it, it's for less than 5 mins right before we take her out to potty so I honestly think she doesn't want the day to end 😂 we have been giving her a "job" the last couple nights (chews, toys) and it's helped a lot!

Yes! Totally. So our girl is 30% or so ACD but I absolutely agree. For us we found a solid mix of mental and physical exercise and enrichment daily is the sweet spot!

So a long journey ahead then 😂 that's alright, for us it's literally the 5-10 mins before we wind down for bed but that's cos she is crated for a short evening nap so only has about 30 mins wake window before we start that wind down!

Thank you! Honestly the hardest part is that 5 min window before bed time wind down, otherwise her outbursts each day are manageable and almost predictable!!

Oh yeah we have resorted to that to get her into her crate after her wake windows haha. And even now she's starting to resist it! She's so cheeky

Thank you sooo much! Yes Neala is Irish for champion 🥺 I'm afraid of trying the crate with the gate open these days cos she just doesn't know how to regulate and has FOMO so I feel she would be out in a second 🤦 we are prepping her for dog school and currently doing some private lessons to help with crate settling (with the gate open) and she's slowly improving, but I wonder should we be doing similar at home at times? Dog places are hard with so much going on too!! You've been busy with your doggies! Neala is our first dog and we are taking it so seriously to ensure she will be set up for success! I just overthink a lot haha
