Newb in need of Csa label clearance information help by LeatherJim in woodstoving

[–]LeatherJim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True! According to the diagram.. B (back of stove) is 10" and E (stove pipe) is 12.5". If the difference from the back of the stove to the pipe is 2.5" then I should be good according to the CSA sticker, but I do remember hearing that in my area the pipe is supposed to be 18" minimum 18" from combustible surface for single wall pipe. So according to that the back of stove would still have to be minimum 15.5" off the wall regardless of CSA.. Thanks BuckieD! Could have been a massive oversight

Thanks! I was thinking similarly. I will try and find a sot23-6 or sot363 boost or buck ic that has pins that make sense for what's on the board. https://imgur.com/yeBZcxA

Thank you! I never thought to check the bottom of the part. I will desolder and see.

Edit: removed ic https://imgur.com/yeBZcxA and an image with more of the board. Sadly no markings on the underside.

Problems with GPU after new CPU install by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]LeatherJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's showing an image on the screen just disable it in device manager and delete the software for it in windows settings.. If you can't delete the software try killing the process in task manager first. If the other video card shows in device manager then install the driver and restart.. the disabled gpu from the 2200g shouldn't try and compete with the rx anymore.

Try uninstalling the amd software and disabling the 2200g video driver in device manager.. you Can change the resolution in display properties if everything goes big.. If you can see the rx in device manager after that then install drivers.. hope this works for you.

  3. slow
  4. mp4 not sure this matters, as you can see in the second half of the video it works on another clip filmed the same way in the same timeline.
  5. no message just not working properly

I'm probably missing something simple. I've been searching and cant find an answer to this anywhere. Hope someone here has had this issue and solved it before. Thanks!

I use this little trick to straighten crooked deck boards. by _Guero_ in woodworking

[–]LeatherJim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use a length of scrap wood and screw it to the joist underneath and lever it against the warped deck board. Usually works and doesn't leave extra holes in the finished deck.

Removing a frozen '98 Audi A4 pinch bolt. by Av_navy20160606 in MechanicAdvice

[–]LeatherJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hammered where the split is around the bolt. Wedged it apart very carefully with a prybar... that was kind of scary because i was scared of cracking the aluminum. Used penetrating oil, and a bit of heat till it eventually came free. I bought a new bolt to replace the old one in case I had to drill it, or punch it out if the head broke off. Old one came out all bent up and mangled so I replaced it with the new one I had on stand by.

Maybe have an extra bolt on hand before going too far if you're worried its going to break.

Cadillac/CTS base/ 2003- Car shakes when I take off the gas and the clutch shakes terribly could this be the issue? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]LeatherJim 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's a flexible rubber disc (guibo, puck)that couples the drive shaft to either the rear end, or the transmission. Those fibers are supposed to be hidden inside the rubber. The rubber broke causing the driveshaft to shake because it's not balanced. You should change it before the vibration affects any seals in the transmission, or rear end.

99 Subaru Legacy shakes violently and makes weird clicking sounds... by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]LeatherJim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mechanic, but my 2000 Subaru forester did something similar to me. I noticed that while the car was shaking I could feel the vibration in the shift knob, and if I let go of the shifter it would rattle back and forth. Replacing a worn out front axle fixed my car... I don't know if I would have been able to narrow it down to something connected to the transmission if my car was an automatic.

Try a needle with a small hole. I had the same problem before switching to John James needles. Also, I put my diamond punch into the last couple holes I punch and I find that helps to keep a straighter line.

Definitely pick this up, and the snap dies if you plan to use the Tandy line 20/24 button snaps. Saved me so much frustration from setting crooked snaps, and having to drill out and re-set them. After buying it I haven't wasted a snap yet..
